Yesterday I bought a 1:43 model of the Ferrari 308GTB Millechiodi, the Pininfarina show model on basis of a 308GTB which seems a styling exercise for the later 288 GTO. Does this car still exist?

The Millechiodi was shown at the 1977 Geneva show.

It was the 1st 308 with a spoiler behind the roof and had a 512BB dashboard.

The chassisnr was 23611. After the show it was scrapped by Ferrari.

Every car manufacturer has to scrap old prototypes, but having lusted after these cars for years (before I could buy em)these photo's make me want to take a trailer down to Maranello and bring home a few unwanted strays

Just imagine a 308GTB with a 512BB dash... (as I said in a previous post

    in this thread)

Well, the Millechiodi did have it. Here's a picture to prove it.

Might be a gratefull conversion job for a creative 308GTB owner!

That looks really nice! Probably the gauges are easier to read too!

As for the Ferrari scrapyard, anybody know if the GT4 wooden body-buck still exists? I'd love to have that (would make a nice conversation-piece sitting in my living room...).

.and solves the glare problem of the original 308 instrument pod!

I don't think this was a 288GTO proto, though. Too early in time I would think.

They were just flaring fenders for more rubber, as the GTO did require years later. Rear roof spoiler made it to production obviously.

    That last pic's pretty sad.

L'idea Ferrari book had many wood styling bucks in it. 512BB I believe.
Found that book in paperback for $20.

Do you have pictures of it? I am pretty sure s/n 23611 was scrapped by the factory years ago. I haven't seen any pictures of it besides the ones posted above.

    That's a later car, IMO......

    Flush nose badge..

QV vents in the front hood....

And on the original show car, I don't recall the rear spoiler being mounted BACKWARDS!!!!

Why would one believe that this car have been scrapped? I have scanned two pictures from the book Enciclopedia Ferrari by Starter Collezione and it shows the Millechiodi at a Ferrari event in 1984. It looks exactly like the car in the video and I don't see why someone would make a replica of a 1977 308 in 1984.

The MilleC had the vents, 4 slats like the car in the video. a QV has only 3, a GTO has 5 and a 328 has 6 with wider spacing.
Also the rear spoiler is like on the showcar. Only the wheels are different.
Because this picture below was in the thread before the infamous server crash. Maybe someone saved the car, maybe they made more than one. I don't know. The pictures you posted seem to be the car in the video.

that truly unique and stunning "thousand nails" show car still exist... i have some found recent picture taken a couple of years ago in italy and looks to be in pristine condition.

if you want more details of the car get a copy of car styling 1977 issue no#19.

it has some fantastic studio photos that ive never seen elsewhere. the article claims it was an aerodynamic study with sculpted widen body panels (looked like alu but where made in fiberglass) to house the new TRX tire technology. as we now know many of the spoilers and vents ideals were incorporated on the later 308 derived cars. some interesting features of the interior shows the boxer type IP, lightweight door panels with 1/4 arm rest, sill mounted fire extinguisher and some fantastic sporting bucket seats with a red strip down the middle like the P118 silhouette that came out previous geneva show in 76.

    cheers

Yes I know that picture but it doesn't seem scrapped to me. It even has some sort of license plate. The fact that the car in 1984 had a Crepaldi sun visor tells me that it's still alive.

I hope 23611 is still around. Developmental cars are so interesting as they try out new ideas.
THAT would be my idea of a colector Ferrari, much like the breadvan 250.

I wonder who actually has it. If a replica, someone went to a lot of trouble...

i sat in the prototype 365bb in the 90's. to the best of my knowledge pinninfarina still has it. you can tell the proto by the wasabe green headliner and the extra part line on the headlamp lids if you look carefully. im sure there where other detailed differences as well.

ive gots pics stash away somewhere.

Thank you for posting those pictures, hf. It's nice to see the 308 GTB Studio Aerodinamica alive and well.
