can you explain why a 1:18 cost $230+?? Is exoto high end manufacturer?

Forgive my newbie question, just started getting into the model thing

Exoto is one of the best 1/18 model companies out there, that the average buyer can get. I have 2 exoto Grandsport Corvettes in my collection and they are fantastic models. The $230 is about what I paid for each Corvette. They are well worth the money if you are a serious collector. The other nice thing about the company is the fact that they only due a limited run of each model, therefore almost garenteeing the collector that it will go up in price. The #65 Grandsport vette i have,I have seen around here for as much as $500..and that in less then 3 years.

Ok everyone his choice, but 230 $ for a 1/18 F40 is a little bit to much for me...

I have a few Mario Andretti Exoto cars that were close to $200, but are not available anymore. You do get what you pay for, but unless the F40 is really different, I probably will pass, too.

I like the Exoto models that no one else makes (Andretti), so for those, I have to get the Exoto.

Once that F40 is out, you may find it a little cheaper on Ebay. I found one Exoto F1 car for only $30. No one else bid.

Ferrari F/40 Exoto 1/12 for $230 is a gift. Exoto is one of the best company in DieCast models. Their work is very good and their details are incredible !!

At that price I think I'll pass too. The Bburago F40 is quite nice IMHO. I'd rather spend the 230 on a model I don't have yet, like eg. the Breadvan.

Wow - that is a lot for 1:18. The detail must be awesome!

I want to get one of the blue 1:18 F40's I keep see popping up on ebay.

LHD? That would be standard then. You mean RHD, right?

From a modeler's perspective I think that is a hard one to crack because of the dash. The way to do it, would be to buy two of each, then kitbash the two dashboards into one good one. Not easy I'd think.
