Gestalt: a configuration or pattern of elements so unified as a whole that it cannot be described merely as a sum of its parts.

Gestalt psychology: an approach to psychology that emphasizes the importance of configurational properties.

Was hoping the poll would be updated to include "some, not all, dang it" - since it wasn't, I watch some, not all, dang it. F1 is a bit like travelling on a narrow, windy road - passing opportunities are few, but when they arise, one seizes the chance and throttles to increase spreads or catch up on the stretches. Sure, a car and driver might get ahead, but that doesn't mean he won't have mechanical failure or a lapse of judgment, so anything can happen where speed isn't a constant and right and left turns are part and parcel, rather than the exception - even if one guy looks like he's clobbering the rest of the field.

never miss it. Love to watch with surround sound. Have adjusted one of the sound modes on my receiver for a fantastic sound, especially the engines.

Driving a car like a Ferrari is a very emotional choice. Let's face it, there are lots of other great cars around, which could give you lots of enjoyment. To me the F1 connection is so fundamentally important, that I would miss it while driving a car from a manufacturer that is not competing in the pinnacle of motor sports.

When I hear my engine rev up or throttle down I'm always reminded of the drivers of its time: Gilles, Rene, Patrick, Stefan, Michele to name a few.

Luckily this is all very hypothetical anyway as F1 without Ferrari would simply cease to exist.
