AllanLambo & Mako99 - good for the site?

This guy is definitely enriching my F-Chat experience. Reality check that bounces, NSF.

 

Mako99..I could care less if you like a 308 or not. What you like or dislike has no bearing on my life. But you must realize that this site has many 308 owners on it..and they love their cars to death. Most more then likely have the money to buy a brand new Ferrari,but choose to own a 3x8 car simply because it's the car they want and love. Weather it be the timeless looks,how it drives,how it makes them feel,what ever. Maybe it was the first Ferrari they ever saw and wanted to own one.

You again just want to cause trouble and be like Allen. You appear to have a space in you're life that needs to be filled with negative energy..and you seek the negative energy by insulting others with your usless and often off the mark posts. As far as I can tell you don't have enough experiance with any car to make the comments and judgements you charge against people and the cars.

I also highly doubt you would talk to people in the manner in which you post, if you met face to face in conversation. You would show respect and compliment a person on his or her chosen Ferrari even if you didn't like it..just to be nice..or avoid a knucle sandwich which I beleive anyone on this site would gladly administer to a loud mouth like yourself.

I personally feel the sport's car world would not be as advanced without either Ferrari or Lamborghini (engineering and design).

 

Wow that thread seems like an eternity ago...I remember that.

I remember that my motivations then were to defend someone with an alternative viewpoint to the sheep-like F-chat masses from being banned at that time.

I value the insight of all dissenters on this board, as I do on every other board. Allan had a good track record previously of being a sharp dissenter on NSXPrime, which is where I first saw him.

How times have changed. The funny thing is that Rob has no common belief system with you censorship nazis, and this thread would not result in a ban for either of us no matter if it was 99 to 1. That's because he knows our posts are beneficial, and the other critical part: We only attack your dumb a$$ if you attack FIRST.

Go back to every single post. Go see who starts ****. Here's how it works 99% of the time:

1. Allan or I post a dissenting thread that the majority HERE (I say here because the opinion expressed by us IS the majority outside this biased limited universe of F-chat). Here's an example that I'll start: "The 308 is junk, I'd never own it.

2. 308 owners, Tifosi, or whoever, come to the defense of the car, but this time they insert a personal attack because they're offended at the beatdown their $hitbomb took publically. THIS is what starts EVERY negative thread here. An opinion is expressed that someone doesn't like, so they attack the poster.

3. Then, Allan or I, or both, clamp down on that poster's ball$ like a vice grip and he humbly goes limping home.

4. The F-chat world shrieks in horror at the nuclear devastation that was levied by both of us, the razor sharp dissection of the ranter like a surgeon removes a tumor. They are appalled by the horror.

But the bottom like is that if the person that started the personal attacks had defended his CAR and not gone the easy route of personal insults, the whole thing wouldn't have devolved into a bloodbath.

I have an opinion. I will express it. I will express it to your face, directly in front of you in person, because that is my right.

If you don't like it, you have options. You can defend your ground logically and take a stand, or you can punch me in the mouth. Either way, you are going to take some pain.

 

Hey - If you had asked me after the first 2-3 months of being here, I would have voted to ban Allan. He is so biased towards Lambos' and aginst Ferrari's that he cant see straight. However, he's an enthusiast and passionate, and that's OK. I like the fact that he's around. He looks for different things in a car than others. For example, he wants something that is very fast in a straight line only (witness the SV/nitrous and the desire for a 996T that's highly modified ). I would like to see his passion extend to cars that are good all around or balanced or may be more classic and not as fast. He doesn't appear to appreciate anything but 0-60, 1/4 times, rolling starts. But he is not a troll.

Maaco is an Allan wannabe.

I do tire of all the personal attacks. I just personally hate it when these guys attack others from a personal standpoint. To belittle those that may not have as much money or like a 308, is uncalled for. But hey you gotta deal with the good and the bad.

Keep 'em here. They contribute a lot more here than I do.

Without Lamborghini for Ferrari to compete with in the 70's and 80's, we wouldnt have the great 512 Testarossa and, later on, the F512M. Likewise, without Ferrari's TR series, Lamborghini fans (myself included) might not have the great Diablo series.

If you don't like Allan, blame Ferrari. Ferrari's managment created Allan.
If they would have made the Enzo $300,000 and produced 1,500 cars to spread out the production cost. Allan would be here everyday talking about how much he wants the Enzo or how great his Enzo is, and how it kicks ass.


If you don't like Mako....

Well you must be a fan of the 360 hanging around for another 12 years and getting fake 27 HP bumps every two years so they can milk that cash cow. Mako thinks the Gallardo upset Ferrari's long-term plans with the 360 and now they have to rush to bring out a baby ENZO because Lambo forced them. I guess we can blame a new car coming out sooner on Mako's stupid line of logic

 

That's the bottom line. F-chatters act like Lamborghini takes away from their heritage. In reality, without L-cars, F-cars would be sub par.

The pressue that the then media-darling NSX created propelled Ferrari to achieve the 355, which was a technological marvel for a company that didn't even have ABS just a few years earlier. The pressure that the Gallardo will create will push Ferrari to introduce models that push the bar higher than ever before.

To "root" for a car company makes you a jacka$$, plain and simple. I root for CAR MODELS, not MANUFACTUERERS, because at the end of the day my last name isn't "Ferrari" so I don't make a dime off of them doing well. They work for me, I don't work for them. It's THEIR responsibility to attact MY dollars, not the other way around.

F1 is different, I'm a tifosi as much as anyone, I attended the USGP two years ago and it was heaven. I think it's fantastic that Ferrari and Schumi have done so well, and I would like them to win outright for the next 20 years. That's one area where I want no competition, lol.

But that has NOTHING to do with Ferrari as a road car manufacturer, in that light I take no bull$hit from them and will tolerate no nonsense like models that are forgettable (456/550/612).

 

Jordan, I agree, competition is necessary for advancement. However, to hijack Ferrari threads daily and turn them into Lambo is best threads or to constantly bash the 308 or personally attack an enthusiast like DES, for example, in my opinion is detrimental to the site - a site for Ferrari enthusiasts. Mako attacks the Ferrari on over 95% of his posts, hijacks threads and is generally insulting and disruptive.

I and apparantly, half of the posters on this forum feel that they are so disruptive they should be banned. Allan knows his cars - but has not yet figured out that there is a Lambo chat. Mako is a troll pure and simple.

That's a real mature stance isn't it? This boy has never had a Ferrari, and never will. He is a loser now, and will always BE a loser!!! As if it's any of your business little boy, yes, I can afford a 355 or a 360 if I wanted one, however I instead chose to put my money in the market (that's the stock market....a place where big boys put money). So your personal attacks and insults bounce off of me and every other enthusiest that you attack, considering the source. Now, go back to PLAYING with your blocks while I buy them.

 

What happened on the biggest troll thread? Should we ban all of them as well? Many people think DES is just as bad as Allen. I think there is a place for everyone. If you don't like them, ignore them.

Here's the rule with me, and you'll see it in all of my posts. Do a search before popping off:

1. I voice an opinion on a car, as I am entitled to without personally attacking anyone.

2. The owner of that type of car cries in his mom's basement for awhile, and then responds with a personal attack of venom.

3. I bit$hslap the poster into oblivion.

So stfu and post links bi$ch, otherwise pipe down because the adults are talking.

 

Per those who rouse the most rabble about Ferrari: the moment someone discounts the current Lamborghini lineup, they're told to get off the crack. Thick-thinned giving it, thin-skinned taking it.

Without rabble-rousers: There have been many, many discussions without such input - so, yes - Lamborghini can be discussed fairly. There have also been many, many discussions without such input - so, yes - Ferraris can be discussed fairly, even on dear old Ferrarichat.com.

Therefore, it's unnecessary to trash-talk the marque(s), the products or the caretakers. That's all anybody's ever asked of rabble-rousers. After all this time, I have yet to see their opinions of pre-Daytona models, but I'd like to - provided the tone is civil.

To that end, there are a few Lamborghini models I like. Hint: They have curves.
On one hand, when all is said and done regarding past, present or future Lamborghini models: I don't think there'll ever be a Lamborghini valued at 1 million US dollars. On the other hand, I think that's too bad - because the potential is in those curves. Is that being a rabble-rouser? No, I don't think so.

Would I be treated with disdain if I spewed certain rhetoric about the marque, products or caretakers in a certain way (not as above) on a Lamborghini site? Even if it wasn't a certain Lamborghini site? I think so, therefore, I don't.

 

Rob - I think Allan actually pulls Mako up when lumped in the same poll. If you created an official ban Mako poll - I believe he would be voted off the island.

Does it not alarm you that half of the responses to date call for their ouster? One thing that they do well is increase the post total - between the F-bashing / I love Lambo posts and the replies - the post count is way up. But I believe the quality suffers and there are many enthusiasts that post less frequently and are turned off from the site by Mako and Allan.

If I were a sponsor I would feel better if the decorum and tone of this Forum were higher. The clear majority of flame wars involve Allan and Mako - irrespective of who "starts" them. Fact of the matter is many were gulled into thinking that this was a site for Ferrari enthusiasts. Allan and Mako clearly are not enthusiasts and indeed they constantly rip into cars like the 308 - and obviously this is offensive to those 308 owners who take pride in their car and probably worked hard to obtain it.

I know not many will care and some (like Allan and Mako will be pleased) but I for one visit this site far less because of the turn it has taken. Posters like Maranelloman added value and his hiatus is missed.

Do you really need a poll to tell you that the spirit of this Forum is being broken by Mako?

 

Spoken like somebody with erudite knowledge of these cars and by somebody who has never driven either of them.

I have driven both, and I can tell you that the Gallardo is NOT superior in every way to the 360. I own a 360 and I have a deposit on a Gallardo, so I have no prejudice. I can tell you right now the steering feel on the 360 is much better than the Gallardo, the exhaust sound on the 360 is much better, the interior comfort of the 360 is better, the interior in general is better in the 360, until the Gallardo has the clear engine cover the 360 also has it beat there with the salivation that comes with being able to see the engine all the time, and the 360 engine is better looking.

Overall I believe the Gallardo is better than the 360, but stating it is better in every way is just moronic.

Mako, here's what I'm having trouble understanding: you state that you are a fan of car models, not manufacturers. Fine. And just like you, there are many of us who are fans of certain models. Ferrari models, which is why we're here, at FERRARICHAT! It seems to me, though, that when the preferences of others conflicts with your own tastes, you feel the need to jump all over them for liking what they do. And then falling behind your rhetoric of "I didn't start anything--you guys are the ones attacking me!" A very tired, played out shock-jock approach. If you feel the need to march in here and profess that you have opinions--another tired, played out theme--then it should make perfect sense to you that everyone has opinions. If discussing cars amongst one another with civility and mutual respect is what you consider being ovine, then you've got some big problems, the least of which is this website. So, perhaps you should pause, take a breath, stick a finger into that pile of s**t you've been shoveling and take a lick. Or, if you prefer, try two scoops.

Looks like I touched a nerve with the boy!! He is a troll and we have no place here for someone like him. Disliking a brand or model is normal, constantly saying that model is a POS and laughing at someone because (he thinks) that they can't afford anything pricier than a 308 is not only abnormal, it just proves his lack of tact and maturity.
