Help - my hard drive just runs and runs and runs

    About two weeks ago the hard drive in my computer (Dell Inspiron laptop) started to run all the time, and the computer became very sloooooooow. It now takes about 5 minutes to load any program. Again, this happened almost over night. What could be causing this to happen? I do not appear to have a virus (Norton Corporate Ediiton Anti Virus 8.2), but something is wrong. Also, I do not recall loading any programs lately that could be causing this problem either.

    I'm not a cpu guy but maybe you have spyware/tracker systems running in your background? spybot search and destroy should tell you. Do a web search for it.

    Thanks. I am running Spy Boot as we speak. Hopefully that is my problem.
