Specialist Servicing - Cheshire

Anyone used JMH Automotive in Cheshire to get there F-Car serviced. ?

I am due a service shortly inc belt change.

I went over to see them a few months ago, I need and still do, a belt change.
Jason, the guy who runs the place, I think, seems well informed and the quote he gave me was not unreasonable.
I am overhauling the drive shafts at the moment, but as soon as that is done it will be going to them for the belts.

Iwill post results of the job.

 

There is a specialist on the dock road in birkenhead just up from were the Mersey ferries more.

Highly regarded so I'm told, don't know the name but there are lots of logos on the building

Is the guy in Birkenhead called Hesketh ? If so I have heard of him from another owner who seemed very happy.

 

My 348GTS is with JHM at the mo. I get it back this Friday. £450 ish for a yearly service. I'll let you know.

Thats it HESKETHS, he does old lambo's and daytonas, if they can tune a V12 a 348 will be a piece of cake.

I know Jason at JMH used to belong to SCS in Knutsford.

I seem to recall they did some of the servicing for Stratstones in Wimslow but I may be mistaken.

Where abouts up the Dock road, as I'm going to a paint shop over that way tomorrow thought I'd check them out (and don't want to be seen cruising up and down "Corpie Road" looking for them!!)

Think we may be getting our 70's F1 teams mixed up

Hesketh = Lain Tyrell, now Wirral Jag (I think)

they had a bit of a mixed reputation a few really good resto's but a few mistakes, remember looking at a 250TDF they did in about 1991(ish) fantastic quality job. last I heard Tyrell was doing the pubs and clubs as a singer.

A couple of local people who have good reputations on the wirral seem to be DRP in Hoylake and PNM in Wallasey neith F-car specialists but have done work on them (PNM is a Lotus bod who does v good work)

I know PNM engineering, the guy, Peter is a Lotus bloke, my brother uses him alot, real nice guy, with a good rep in Lotus circles. I might go and see if he is interested in f cars

 

Phil please let me know if Peter does want to do some F-car stuff, would be alot easier having somebody 5 miles down the road.

 

I went to see Peter and had a bit of a gossip with him. He will take on Ferraris' but he did make a comment about timing belts !

jmh have just done an annual service on my 328- i have to say that they did an excellent job.Jason saved me money where possible such as straightining the aerial instead of the ferrari quoted price of £419 plus fitting!The car seems quicker than ever and the brakes in particular feel better.The car was waxed and valeted and i am in no doubt as to where i will go in future.

 

Well, I just got back my 348 TS from Jason at JMH in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.

The car runs perfect, and Jason, in fairness saved many ££££ by correcting problems without going the extortionate Ferrari route..

I would recommend his services without hesitation - a very knowledgeable guy with the marque for all models and open for lots of annoying questions from an over inquistive customer.

No affialiation etc etc etc ..

Has anyone else got any more recent experiences of JMH in Holmes Chapel? Most of these posts are a few years old now - I'm coming up for an annual filters on my 355 - any opinions welcome

 

I've used Jason at JMH for the last for years, I would not go anywhere else, he will drop off and pick up also.
