I thought I would give my NY/Tri-State fellow enthusiasts this opportunity before going national. I have a 1991 F40 with 10,500 miles available for sale. This car is in exceptional condition for both road and track. It was a second place winner at the FCA West Point Concours this past summer. Although currently fitted with a Tubi exhaust and racing seats, the original exhaust and seats come with the car.

If you are serious (and capable) of owning this car please PM me and I will supply you with all pertinent information.

When advertising a car like that........you MUST specify (capable) It is very easy to understand. This car is serious. I know how it is because I am in the business and unfortunately there are people that arent capable and think they are.

Anyways, good luck selling your F40. It sounds like an awesome car.

It must be a New York thing.

Twice in YOUR section these guys have "popped" in with "Hi, I'm new here but I've got this *****in' car, see....."

Egan wrote a GREAT article in R&T on how to decipher used car adds. It was hilarious. You know, "Serious inquiries only", like someone trying to unload a $300K used car isn't dealing with SERIOUS issues already!!! He's the guy trying to sell US a car!

HTH, FWIW BRUCE I THINK YOU"D BE F40 CAPABLE.

Or you could just use what I use on my tall, female, red headed loan officer,
"We'd look GOOD in this car!" Works every time!

I don't think they mean driving expertise, as long as the check clears!

capable means the f-40 has a small drivers seat, so you can't be a rich fat ass :) just kidding guys, i am pretty sure i am capable of driving it on an empty airport runway though!, just a couple hundred thousand dollars short :(

Good morning Dave!! How are my babies doing?? ASD got my old 308 back from a guy who traded it in for an Aston Martin upgrade. She looks good on the web pics!!!
My TR just got the full major and is waiting to go to FoLI for the seat belt recall in another week or so. I'm in no hurry to see her back until mid-late March or so.
How are things with you? Your 308QV and Jags treating you well?

Hutch -Your babies looked great. Thinking of parting w/ the Jag, but I'm sure some of this is brought on by the last 2 crappy winters - no driving. Cars are all fine, just waiting for the snow to melt and the salt to be washed away. It's just not the same starting them, warming them up, moving them about and not getting out there. Looking forward to an early spring.

Using a term like "capable" is really just an arrogant way of making the seller feel good while posturing in public. He certainly has the means to own this car but you, on the other hand, most likely do not.

I'm not capable, but when I get there I will surely skip ads like this one.

And the Beacon of Reality shines brightly on titanium360 :)

Seriously, This guy has a nice car that is priced about right. Yea, he could have picked a better way to phrase it, but at least he put it in parentheses.
Maybe something like "if you can't put up, shut up!"
Or maybe "wannabees need not apply"
Gee, Qualified seems kinda "nice" now doesn't it?

    Isn't the internet fun?

    lol

Capable = Don't waste his time. I'm sure many people do! Being a Ferrari Board, I'm sure nobody here would do such a thing.

Sorry to hear you are selling it - I worship all F40 owners. :)

ferretti, he may not have. I think this because the seats are deep buckets, so you cant really lean over.
