What the heck. I'll just start this off instead of further polluting the Portland Ferrari Spotting thread. Seattle FCA members interested in going down to Portland for the events should post here.
Sorry can't make it I will be in Windy City that weekend. I will miss you all in the next Saturdays. I am on the ski slopes I will be in Park City, UT after Windy City weekend. Hope had a chance to see Sean's silver 575M and test drive his brand new blue 456M
This year will be my 8th year skiing. I usually ski about a dozen times a season. But now, oh well, getting old. Perhaps will make it to 10 times this season.
From what I've heard, the event is open to Ferrari Club of America members and their invited guests only. If you're a member, come join us!
I think we should start planning this more seriously now. The usual Southcenter spot would be a good place to get the group together. We need ideas for time and route.
Hey, I'm already in Portland! I'm at the Marriott, but will be heading home this afternoon for the Enzo Birthday Party this evening....see you guys there! Dave
It's an official FCA event to tour Ron Tonkin Grand Tourismo, the Ferrari dealer in Oregon, and Tonkin's own personal car collection.
A couple of us are planning on taking a slightly more circuitous route to Portland on Saturday, avoiding much of the I-5 drone. The route I have in mind is one that includes some very nice smaller farm country roads west of I-5 between Centralia and Longview. Some of the roads are ones a few of us have scouted on previous trips between Portland and Seattle, and some are in Pierce County, which I believe everyone knows is the black hole of WA. Once inside Pierce County, you can never get back out. But I digress. Of course, this route might just take a few minutes longer to cover, so Im thinking of leaving the Seattle area around 8AM. If any of you are interested, drop me a note and we can arrange to meet up. eric
I'm leaning toward Eric's idea. We could meet up at the Southcenter Nordstrom's parking lot around 8am.
Thanks for the info. Is this a members only type event? What are membership requirements if so? Can you show up without your Ferrari and not be beaten, etc. (I could ride my 999, at least its Italian). Thanks.
It's an event for FCA members and member's guests. If you're a FCA member, you should be able to attend. Ducati would be just fine.
Very cool - A group of us were sitting at a restaurant at Crystal Cove in California and Ron came up and introduced himself to us (we were sitting by another chatter's F40 ). Ron was a VERY nice fellow - Have fun guys!
