The "stongard" website doesn't mention anything about 3m - is "stongard" really the 3m paint protection film? Doesn't seem so.

I have seen this stuff installed on many vehicles and I think it wise to put onto my Stradale when it arrives. Looking at the web site I don't see the Stradale listed as a pre-cut option.

Have any of the new Stradale owners had it installed? I was also considering the potential damage to the carbon fibre door panels and if it could be installed over carbon fibre around the often kicked area near the bottom front of the door panel.

I can't find the web site at the moment but this is a copy of the product they mailed me.

It may not come out very well as I had to shrink it to fit.

I understand that the installer works the material into the surface contours. I was in Indy when mine was being done. I don't know how they made the curves and the material adhear to each other, but mine has no air pockets and knife cuts.

I beleive 3M makes all the products for everyone but they are just marketed under a different brand name. The outcome is very dependent on the aplication of the product. Make sure you specify an installer that has dealt with your make and model of car before.

The 3M is the best thing since sliced bread!! It can save countless chips not to mention money spent by repainting. Some companies offer lietime warranty on cracking, fading and/or Yellowing for as long as you own the car.

The factory pieces installed on the 360's and other vehicles is not the same material as the 3M Scotchcal that used by StonGard, Amorfuend and ourselves. We all use 8 mil instead of the 14 mil that you see on the cars from the factory. The thicker stuff will help direct impact in areas such as behind the wheels and other low areas of the car, but the down side is that the film isnt as clear and gets dirtier a lot easier.

Of course anything right behind the tires can get dirty. The reason is a couple of things. The tires rub off some of its substance and causes the material to stain and then there is tire dressing. The key to help reducing this would be to make sure that the tire dressign isnt applied in excessive amounts before driving.

For those no believers out there on clear bras - For complete packages of the clear bra are far less expensive then having the vehicle repainted, not to mention the hassle and time bodyshops take. At worst case think of it as an investment that can be removed at anytime without harming the paint.

If I can answer any questions regarding this product please let me know and I will do my best to answer promptly.

have the product on my 512TR no problems yet. Whacked a piece of wood on the freeway at 80mph and it left a scuff mark on the 3M but nothing on the paint and it didn't break the 3M. The scuff is hardly noticeable it might even buff out the next time I have the car detailed. Professionally installed so I don't have any experience with DIY install.
