Very nice of what is looking to be the last nice Mercedes design. The current E is very elegent, much more so then the old, and the new 5.

Saddly the new S is looking horrifying.

Hopefully they keep the SLR nose far away from the SLs...

Gracias! I love the W211's, they look fantastic and killer when donoe right!

I think all BMW"s are gay, it's Mercedes fanboy talking here. Oh yeah, sure I'm getting a X5 soon but that's another story.. :)

The SLR nose will stay away from the R230 for a while until maybe R231 or whenever that saftey crap kicks in. :(

Judge4re, why sleeping? No prancing horse? :(

Nah, too many travels to Europe. Can't get excited about taxis.

Been there and done that with MB. Time to move on. Too much electronic driver aids, too soft a suspension. About as exciting as a dishwasher. I was an MB fan, until I lived with one for 4 years...

    YMMV.

    I like old cars...

I gotcha, at least you aren't one of those "oh it's not a Ferrari / *insert name brand here* folk.

BTW: I've never seen an R230 as a taxi, can I ask where specifically you go to? :D

There is too much electronic aid, but that's not a bad thing for someone like my dad, he loves the car because it reminds him of his 325i he has a long time ago, but without the manual *crap* and what not driver interaction that personally I like.. :)

ABC isn't that soft though, you might want to take another look at it next time you're at a Mercedes dealer, it's actually a technological marvel!

Like you said, YMMV, for me dad it's perfect, for me, I'd prefer a Lambo :) and for you.. well we're at FerrariChat aren't we? :D

Actually, the next two cars I plan on getting will be an Aston Martin V8 and a Bentley Mark VI. Life is too short to swear loyalty to just one brand.

You truly are a man of wise words! What if Ferrari came out with an SUV and a four door sedan? :)

Then they would be breaking into a market where others have been perfecting their trade. Do you think soccer mom is going to enjoy having her Ferrari SUV or sedan towed because she breaks it if she drives it more than 15k a year? LOL ;)

Ferrari needs to stick with what it does best, racing. And then manufacturing road cars.

Nice combo. I'd change the wheels though. We're getting an S600 next year. Should be fun.

I know if they priced it high enough that wouldn't shame other Ferrari's (Bringing down the name a la Cayenne V6) I wouldn't mind having my mom drive it. I'm in need of a people hauler and my dad narrowed it down to the X5 only because, it's the only thing out there that targets us (or me). Sporty and not insanely expensive (4.4i).

No, too common, we didn't order this car, just went in inquiring about the S600 and mom saw this one and a Magma Red one about June 2002ish and my mom loved the black one so my dad ended up getting a new car :)

My good friend has a white R230 with the AMG stuff, it's okay, but nothing ot of the ordinary. I'm just going to wait until I have a source of income so I can go all out on my dads car and get him a nice Kleemann kit and TS-6 rims or HRE 8's.

Noony: My daddy isn't an aftermarket guy, it took me forever to convince him to even look at Breytons for the sav we're getting, hard enough trying to get him to change for his daily driver. I feel the pain though! :( :D

Enjoy your S600! 3.3 0-60 with drags and a ECU swap!

3.3 secs? Hahahaha. This will be my mum's car. She is too scared to drive our 300hp porsche let alone this 500hp monster.

My dad never modifies either. Wouldn't even get a louder exhaust for the rather quiet 996.

I use MS Paint and then stretch/skew In the Image menu to make it smaller.

Sport package is not about being common, its about better handling and a better less cushy feel. :)

Sport package is just rims and kit, nothing else. No ABC mods.
