People die all over the world on streets with any kind of speed. The autobahn doesn't have that many wrecks, but when it does, its a big one. I hope they don't change that tradition. People get on there knowing how fast people on there drive. So stay out of the fast lane.

I've also read that the 'Ring is either already closed to the public or will be soon. It's a real shame. I've always wanted to go over there and drive that track! :(

Both parties were at fault. If you've driven it you can startle some people if they aren't driving properly (knowing where traffic is and whats in your mirrors/position of other cars). And, a mistake to drive with child in that lane in an unrestricted zone. Its not a long haul of no limits but usually 130kph, sometimes slower, zones frequently in between. He should have been more considerate and not rode on her bumper but flash and put on a blinker and leave it at that.

    Problem solved.

Get a few friends together and build a track.

You are all invited to mine when it's built. The only sections set in stone so far:

    1, Kick@ss long straight.

2, Hairpin {might be very tight, very wide on entry, then narrows, or might be wide all the way around}.

I only have to decide where to build it. And for that to be answered I have to decide where I'm going to live.
Canadian winters will take a toll every year on it and keep me off of it for a long peroid of time. So maybe the U.S? A lot of opportunity and chance to be had in some places down there.

Anyone else wanting to build there own Spa? ;)

    Everyone,

REST ASSURED they will never be able to take the autobahn
free-for-all away from the Germans, just like no one will
ever attempt to take away the right to arm bears from the
    Americans.

Now, the "Raser Rolf" case illustrates why it is a good
idea to stay out of the fast lane in Germany if you see
a small light closing in really fast from behind!

I drove the 'ring this past October. It was open to the public then. I'd be a shame if they close it. Whoever "they" are.

I read it in the latest issue of GT: Purely Porsche. There was an article about a special track day that they had set up because the track has limited access now. Maybe some of the Euro guys can confirm this?

I don't think it's going to be closed to the public. I read that it's going to have a traffic light installed at an intersection.
