In GD they asked about Ferraris. Sadly the fastest I've ever been going in a Ferrari was probaly 60 so here you can post about any car. I had my speedo buired at 160 in the Impala after removing the limiter with the hypertech, Ram Air Hood, Flow master 40 series,275/40 ZR17 tires, Granatelli MAF sensor, and messing with the shift points with the hypertech. alot of work and money just to get 160, A car like the impala only wants to go straight when it gets going that fast, definately not made for it.
160, wow... In an Impala... LOL... Nice... Is that when you had the accident someone posted pictures of last week...? i hope not... If so, though, you're a trooper... 140 is my tops... Sadly, i'm still 10mph away from the 150 Club... Sigh...
Speedo read around 168-170 in my previous car(C5). Wish I had GPS to verify though! Since then I have learned to save it for the track. Too many unknowns at that speed anyway...
one eight six according to the 220 speedo. if it wasn't... well, it certainly was up there and not too far off. /end stupid days
183 in a Porsche Carrera RS Club Sport on the Autobahn driving, 186 as a passenger with a factory driver...
Ive seen 152 in a '95 Porsche 993 with trick exhaust and chip. Was on the main straight at Roebling road in Savannah. Watching the speedo is tough though. As the braking point looms, you have to look up to judge it correctly. Your accelerating right up to the last second when you go hard on the brakes before trailing off as your turn in. There is another second or so of acceleration before the braking, so the actual top speed may be a bit more, no way to tell. The trick is getting out of turn 9 exactly right so you can carry it down the straight. Get it just a tiny tiny fraction wrong... top speed is about 140 at the end of the straight. The old Road Atlanta would have been fun in the 993, but I only got to run that car on the new version. The slow exit from turn 7 limits top speed on the current track layout in the 993 to about 135. In my old Mercury Sable, the speedo only went to 85. If the MPH scale was the same all the way around, I was probably at ~115/120 on the NJ Turnpike one time.
Dude, are you serious...? Track or no track, that's a number to be proud of... Hot stuff, man... Nice talking to you on the phone, by the way, during that HUGE NNO Celebration drive...
90mph in a LS400. I don't remember my dads driving because he drives like half the guys here.. LIKE AN OLD PERSON!
178 in my vette before i raised my rev limiter by 800 rpm...GPS verified 200 mph club soon hopefully...i get there a lot quicker now
Hmmmmmmmm in a car had a 71 grand prix with a built 400 saw 135 in that (had a 140 speedo) 70 chevelle with a well built 350 seriously buried the 120 speedo maybe 135-140 motorcycle yamaha FZ 700 buried 145 speedo figuring 150+ snowmobile 2003 yamaha SX600R 100 m.ph. speedo indicated. Except for the snowmobile all these 'accomplishments' were made in my younger stupider days.
Those are impressive speeds in those muscle cars. There more geared and made for 1/4 miles rather than top speed arent they.
