Fastest ive ever gone has been a bit over 500mph in an A300. It really was not as exciting as you'd think.

Fast drifting and sliding around corners and foot to the firewall acceleration is where it's at. Straight line speed is achievable by lots of machinery. Even an old Volvo will reach 135MPH on a road long enough and straight enough (and it will be as boring as can be)

There's really something to be said for 0 to 120MPH acceleration runs and then emergency stop, full-on ABS shuddering braking to make your adrenaline pump, especially when there's another lunatic in a fast car beside trying to beat you. Best done on early mornings in deserted parts where only stray wandering cacti or tumbleweeds may get in the way.

About 145 in my 360 and there was a stubborn guy in a Mustang Cobra hanging with me the whole time, topping out around the same speed.

What's awesome is how speeds like that feel more like 100 than 140 in a car like a 360. The only thing that stopped me from getting to 160+ was fear of a cop.

well i have only taken the ol gal (308) up to a little over 130mph via gps. and my RX7 to 157mph via gps. my suzuki GSXR600 to 158mph gps. and my suzuki GSX1300R to 197 via gps. with a couple mods i will do 200mph this summer. need to tweek the gearing.

gps is the only way to go. its amazing how far your speedo is off once you get much over freeway speeds. on my GSX1300R(hayabusa) the speedo is off 12% at 180mph. most cars i have been in do not do much better. the ferrari speedo was pretty close up till about 100mph. anyways i digress.

Nice ride at that speed - compared to the same speed on a Ducati or MV Agusta (which is also a blast!).

150 mph in my 348 on a highway here in Italy...

I will now try to improve that figure with my 355... but there's too much police and radars out there right now in Italy...

I remember when my dad first got his 360 there were about 500+ miles on it and we were driving up I-5 to thunderhill racetrack, he wanted me to drive because he had some phone calls to make, I didnt complain. Right at 599 miles on the odometer he said "break in period is almost over" I downshifted to 3rd and slowed down to 60 mph or so. Right when the odometer clicked to 600 miles he said floor it, I redlined in 3rd, 4th, and then I forget what happened but I got the car to 170 I think. I slowed up a lot after that, I dont want to get arrested. Then we had an awesome day at thunderhill, we raced around with a Mclaren F1, god that car is fast. That is my favorite ferrari story, I just cant wait till I get the Stradale in europe, on the autobahn with no speedlimits and good drivers.

That's pretty quick for a 328. I'm not doubting your claim, just kind of surprised. I'll guess the car was tweaked, or you had some considerable speedometer variance (is that what you mean by "on meter"? ). Any details? I'm sure some 328 drivers here would love to bury the needle in their cars too!

105mph around turn 12 at Road Atlanta with my foot on the floor. If that doesn't get a nut check, nothing will!

But if you're talking about boring straight line speed, then I guess 165mph in a Viper GTS (passenger) on the back straight at Road Atlanta, lifting at the black flag station because he wanted to save the brakes.

There is a nice fairly open road leading to a golf course here in Nashville with a speed limit of 20. I know a guy who knew a guy who knew a guy with an NSX...triple digits
