No big deal. It'll buff right out. Too bad he couldn't pull the 'chute a little earlier. Hey, that gives me an idea for a great Bonneville Speedway invention. Have a mercury switch wired to the parachute release system so that IF your car becomes titled off its axis a preset number of degrees, i.e. out of control, then the parachue is automatically released.
Ah, Racing Beat's (www.racingbeat.com) '93 El Mirage car (http://www.racingbeat.com/Gallery/92ElMirage.htm) that they used for the Bonneville speed runs. If memory serves me correctly it's a 3 turbo, 3 rotor powered car with I think around 850hp or so.
http://www.racingbeat.com/Gallery/95Bonneville.htm Correction, make that 950hp and topped out at only 242mph.
