Been searching high and low and can't seem to find a good source for Vitaloni mirrors. The ones on my '78 308 seem to be the "pronto"(?). I see turbo's, californias, etc. but can't find the Pronto model. I need to replace them due to lack of attention on PO part. The plastic around the outside was so neglected it's almost flaking off.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    John

I don't like the look of those mirrors at all.

I would recommend getting the factory Euro mirrors, with the accordian-style posts. Those just look so much better. You should be able to get them through your local dealer. If you only have a driver's side mirror now, I would add the passenger side for the sake of a balanced look.

I got a pair, but when I tried to mount them I realized that their base is smaller than the stock mirrors on my QV.

So I have to wait until I repaint the car...

I have just the opposite problem. The ones on now have a larger base than the ones I have seen for sale.

The OEM mirrors for your car should be the "Californian." I know Pegasus Racing (mail order catalog) stocks these, they may also stock or be able to get the Pronto, Turbo, or Toranado.
