Please post your 1st motor vehicle and your current cars. Mine was: 1991 Mercedes Benz 190e (W201) - 2.5-16 Evolution II I now drive a 360 6-Speed Coupe (see my sig. photo), a Supercharged BMW 540i (M5 Killa), a Ducati 996 Superbike (Killed by a Hayabusa @ 1/4 mile Dragstrip), a BMW X5 etc................ Regards, JIMMY www.Jimmy540i.com
I love those Benz's! I know envy is a terrible thing... but I envy your first car. My first car was my MGB, not a bad car, but its certainly no Mercedes! Marvelous car, keep up the good driving!
Ed, that's just plain awesome... The first car i ever had was an eighties Chevrolet Celebrity Station; WELLLLLLLL into 6 figures on the odometer; the brakes were beyond shot; sometimes, the car just didn't stop - no, i'm not kidding... A majority of the car was covered in rust... First night out in it, i drove the wrong way down a major road; picked up a friend later and came around an on ramp too fast and put the car sideways onto the parkway... Luckily no one was coming or we would've surely died... No matter how hard i tried, i couldn't get thing to break 80mph... That car cost me $47 and i drove it for 6 weeks... It cost me $150 in towing fees to get the @#$%ing thing out of my name... The first LEGAL D) car i ever had was a 1993 Nissan Sentra with 176,000 miles on the odometer when i got it (given to me by a family member)... Car had a slight oil leak... Just over 22,000 miles and a year later, i cracked the engine block... Fastest i ever got it up to was 110 (more often than not)... Had that car stuck in a dirt ditch way out east here on the Island, with the Bird at some ungodly hour in the morning... The cop we flagged down to help was missing a personality, to say the least... i have a lot of memories from that car...
Wow, some very nice first cars here!! Mine isn't too shabby...very lucky to have it! Split the cost half and half with my parents and have paid them back the rest through good grades and practicing my music Its a 99 Mustang...only a 6 cyl., but its a 5 speed manual so I can still have my fun. I drive it pretty hard even though it isnt really a true sports car. Going to get it on the race track very soon too!!
$800 - Fiat 850 Spider. In rural Alabama it was as exotic as a Cisitalia. And of course, it taught me (not by choice) how to be a mechanic. My first aftermarket upgrade as well - saved up and bought a dodgy header and glass pak from JC Whitney and it made those 903 ccs sound like Richard Petty at Talladega.......
My first beauty was a marina van,and what a piece of s##t that was but it got me and the lads to the night club and left it there only to find it there again next day,£150 i paid for the said piece of junk, anyway good fun was had by all untill the bonnet flew up over the windscreen while driving so carried on driving with head out of the window-priceless fun, Dale.
In high school I inherited the VW Rabbit convertible that had been the shared property of my two sisters at college. It was fly yellow with black interior. Just lovely. Eventually sold it and bought an Accord when I went to college.
My first car was a yellow Citroen 2CV like this one. Now I drive a Daytona, Cayenne Turbo and a Lotus Elise Rijk
Rijk, there's a guy who lives near me who drives one of those! I don't know how old it is, but he definitely uses it a lot, since it's always parked in different spots. What year was yours?
1975, It had 33 hp with a top of a whopping 69 mph. Very ingenious car design though, esecially the earlier ones: The wipers were connected to the speed gauge so, if you would drive faster, the wipers would go faster and many of these sort of solutions. Rijk
I don't think they had invented cameras when I got my first car. 1956 Plymoth 4 door. Red and white with 3 speed on the column and in-line flathead 6 cylinders. A real racer that car was........................................ Now, 3 series BMW, should be an S4 within the next several months and my wifes Dodge Grand Caravan All-wheel drive................................................ All kinds of stuff in between, muscle cars, economy cars, neat cars, boring cars. My favorite: 1968 Olds 442. Red with white upper, red interior, blueprinted, balanced, Crower roller cam, ported and polished heads, Doug's headers, High-rise intake with 750 cfm Carter AFB, 4:56 gears, Hurst Competition-Plus spring loaded shifter. Oh, 4-speed manual. I forget the type mufflers I used, but it sure sounded good.
I couldn't find a picture, but it was a 1986 Toyota Camry. Much better build than the ones now. 203k miles when we finally traded it, and still got something like $2k for it.
My first car was a red 1966 Pontiac GTO 389 6 pack, 4 speed with white bucket seats.I picked her up from the wife of my family doctor with 73000 miles on her. I paid $325.00 which was less than my insurance. That was in 1976 my senior year of high school, far cry from GTO to my 512TR.
late 1980s Honda CRXsi enjoyed the heck out of that car! can't believe it's nearly 20 years. boy, i'm getting old! doody.

Don't have a pic, first car was an '83 Camaro Z-28 H.O. It was 2 years old, pretty awesome car for a 16 yr old.
