Tonkin Service Center Tour. He had a rare (3 made) Vignale coupe here. He used it in the 1993 Mille Miglia. Absolutely gorgeous car. Last picture is a 355 engine and subframe out for service.
Tonkin Collection Tour. Quite an eclectic collection of supercars, vintage, and production sports cars. Cars of note. Twin Turbo Boxer, The supposed only Diablo GT in the US, Miura SV, Vector W8, F40, F50, 288GTO, factory purple Dino, perfect 330GTS in yellow. No Enzo there though.
That's all I got yesterday. Post yours if you got 'em. If there's a criticism of the tour, it would be the lack of a guide. Getting from venue to venue was challenging for us out-of-towners. Directions were sparce. There was no explanation of their service department. The collection tour was nice but a short explanation of the cars to the group would have been better.
Sorry I missed the drive and tour. I love the Miuras. Beautiful car! I agree with Willis, a talking tour is nice for those of us that have not been fans for our entire lives. It's interesting to hear the stories behind the individual cars, much like the Shirley tour last year. Nearly every car he had has a story behind it. See you all at Dyno Day. DJ
hey willis360, it looks like tonkin has lots of boxers....do you know if any are for sale? if you do, how high is the mileage, what year, and what the asking price is? thanks
The best way to find out is to call the dealership for their stock of Boxers. I have no idea on the details. The red Boxer in my pictures belongs to a club member.
Too bad, I missed the drive because of the continuing eds downtown, and looked like you guys having fun down there. Hmmm, wonder if the F50 is for sale??
Try www.tonkin.com Select ferrari then pre-owned. Not much there but call them for their current stocklist. Not sure why you're asking me all these questions since I live in WA and that was the first time I've been to the Tonkin dealership in person.
Yeah, It was great to see the cars. Not a very organized tour but still fun. When you take your cars down for service, ask them if cars in Tonkin's own collection are for sale. You never know...
Their website (tonkin.com) never seems to get updated-- you really need to call them in person. I believe that some of Ron's cars are available at the right price, but I don't know for sure. I wouldn't expect any great deals, however, as he's obviously under no pressure to sell.
Hello Willis360 You would have other photographs of Vector W8 violet? Is it always at the same place?? Thank you in advance
Ron Welcom to F-chat. It's good to see more concours people here. Mike lurks around quite a bit but rarely posts. See you on the 5th.
