Painting plays a big role in customizing in my opinion. You hired a painter man, so what are you? Assistant painter?

I am glad to see that things are coming to a good end.

As to what does Steffen do.

It seems like he is the CEO. He hires others to do paint and custom bodywork. He does the orginal prototype. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Steffen takes the requirements from the customers and passes them to the engineers.

Glad to see he wants to make it right. I'll just stick to customizing my own models. Thanks.

maybe someone won't like it bringing up this thread again, but since I'm new on this forum and just found this discussion, I would be very interested in how this issue has ended.
Luke (karmavore); did you finally get a refund, or a new model ? If the latter applies; was it better ?

    Best Regards from Germany

I don't think your expectations were unreasonable. A six year old could do a better job of putting together and painting a model. I would not pay $10 for that model. Return it immediately and demand a full refund. That was horrible. Sorry.

I got a new model, this one in red with a back top, and it is much better. I'll try to take some pictures this weekend.

I have to agree with everyone here, that is not worth $200, the paint work is horrible, reminds me of my 1st model when I was 8. I personally would not build a Ferrari for my customers without covering the interior with leather and carpeting, specially in a spider! That is the first "detail" that you see, set aside the paint job. Painting the interior plastic is not the way to detail a 1/18 scale and call it "professionally" done, anyway, just my opinion ;)
