What do you guys think? I think they look better in person. The car drives better too. I had 16" QV wheels previous to this. Photo in the profile.

Sorry guys never posted pics here before not sure why they aren't coming up. Any way one major difference is that the car turns much easier at slow speed and the larger tires seem to help the car turn in better. 225/45/17 fronts and 255/40/17 rears.

I looked at the Compomotive wheels last year before I bought the stock 16" wheels. I spoke with company a few times as well. It was a tough choice but I picked the stock ones in the end. Compomotive makes a great wheel. The MO was the nicest wheel!

The rims look great on your car :)

Regarding the car having better turn-in at slow speed and better turn in... In "general" the opposite is true, where larger wheels/tire combo makes everything slower. The reason for this would be the heavier unsprung weight of the larger wheels/tires. Its possible that your new tires have a much harder side wall and with the lower profile tires you are getting this feeling.

    Enjoy them ;)

NICE!! Those are the same style that I'm thinking of buying for my Boxer. Compomotive said they can machine them to use with my center lock hubs and the best part is they won't charge me any extra to do it.

They look a lot like a 288 GTO wheel.

    Brent,

The wheels look great. What made you decide to go with compo over stock? Do you just like the look better? Was there a price advantage? Were the stock 16" hard to find? Any problems or did they just bolt right on? I love the way the tires fill the wheel well. What tire did you go with?

Sorry for all the questions, I want to replace my 14 inch with 16 inch wheels eventually.

Did you use spacers to fit these on? If so, what size? They look great btw!

    Hey Richanton, JonnyT, philipbarresi,

Sorry with the delay in getting back to Richaton. These are 17x8 fronts and 17x9 rear compomotive wheels. The tires are Yokohama AVS 225/45/17 and 265/40/17 rears. No spacers were used. I liked the polished lip and the overall look of the wheels. I got them from Motorsports Specialties in PA. They are at usacomp.com. They also have a guy in California that helps distribute the wheels on the west coast. They are a great wheel and fit fine except for the rear wheels. The company forgot to bore out the center hole to 67mm. They only did it to 58mm. Easy fix at a local custom wheel shop. It cost me $40, but Motorsports Specialties credited me $100 for the labor and my time. Other than that mistake everything is fine.

    Thanks Brent,

One more question, well, maybe two more. The wheel, is it model the "TS" ? Also, weight wise, how does it compare to the stock wheel?

    Thanks,
    Phil

    Phil,

Yes the wheel is the TS model. The weight per wheel is approx. 18 lbs. each. I know the stock wheels are definitely heavier, not sure how much. Also I had to buy the center stickers from a separate source in Palm Springs CA. Motorsports Specialties has their own center sticker that looks like a modified ferrari racing badge. They don't sell the prancing horse center sticker because of copy infringement. I just perfer the standard yellow and black badge.
