Anyone have any tips / tricks they do to make cars dirty as if they just came off of the track?

Of course, at my disposal, I do not have an airbrush to ease the process and fluxuate the flow of paint. But, are there any other ideas/shortcuts or even a how to guide out there?

When I was an avid model builder, I used locksmith graphite with a small shot of dull clear coat. What are you working on Randy?

a few items that I found at the local big lots. (they have some new inventory) and for the cheap dollars, I would dig practicing on some of these. the graphite idea.. I dig that. yeup, I think that's the amount of volume I'd want. thanaks for the tip Will.

Scott85, that really looks great. Ever thought about doing that with a Ferrari kit?

One of the tips I learned for metal pieces is to brush some used thinner on them. Gives them a more used, authentic look.

    you don't need an airbrush....
get an old toothbrush... coat the bristles with paint (not too much).... take a single edge razor and scrape the bristles and you will get a "mist" of paint on the car. i've done this to get my rally cars dirty with great success.
