Do 456's use Variable assist power steering?

    I was looking at a 97, and I hate how sloopy traditional power steering is.

    Yes it does and it seems to work OK. At less than 55 MPH the feel seems to be very neutral on straights and some decent feedback into the turns. I'm not sure if the lack of road feel at < 55 MPH is due to the crappy tires a dealer put on the car (BF Goodrich Comp T/A) or just the general design of the system. Don't get me wrong, it's not like "Dad's old Buick", but not as responsive as my daughters C230K sedan. I also beleive system supports the suspension as well.
