I just need a little help with some info on 550's Iam thinking of buying but wanted to know 3 things if anybody can help. 1, what was the list price of a 1999 550? 2, how much does a 15k service run and what needs to be done? the car has a lot less then 15k but it is now 5yrs old. 3, what seems to be the market price of a low mileage 1999 550? any help would be great. thank you.
the window sticker for my '99 shows 203,800 base; 450 delivery; 6,400 gas guzzler tax. plus options. the 15K is no big deal - a glorified oil change. if you're gonna buy a 5 year old car, buy it with the major / 30k service done, and maybe one of the newfangled warranties. search the archives - i've posted price comparisons of 30Ks. doody.
Market price for a '99 from an authorized Ferrari dealer seems to be about 130-135 IF THE BELT SERVICE HAS BEEN DONE; this car also had new tires and about 9700 miles on it. I recently purchased an '01 550, TdF Blue/Tan, with 3200 miles.
thats great thank you. I am looking a the same Tdf blue/tan 99 4000 miles but no belt service at around that price. not sure if i can get them to do the service for the price iam paying. on a 99 car with sure low miles do i need the belt service ASAP?
I would definitely do the belt service on a '99; it will likely run around 5K. I plan on doing the belts on my '01 this coming winter. Good luck.
I bought my 99 550 from FSF for $120k + $5k for 30k service and fixing split front spoiler, replacing upper leather dash, motor mounts, water pump. 9000 miles. NART blue / tan. Ive had it 2 months...put 1000 miles on it and it runs great! Bill in San Diego
