Here's my collection from this year. I didn't go camera happy as I've done that plenty the past two years. I didn't even do "hot chick" shots, I figured I would retire before I pushed my luck any more.

Millie Miglia trophy. The pic isn't clear, but I think it's 1952. Maybe someone else can confirm. I also don't know what place, but the Millie Miglia was won by Giovanni Bracco in a 250 S that year.

1963 250 LM - Says Le Mans 24 Hour winner, so I think it could only be #5893 that won in 1965. Anyone confirm if that's the 250 LM at Indy? What's amazing about the car and I appreciate, is it's in unrestored condition.

One of only 4 Ferrari Indy cars. This one didn't race though.

    Maserati Birdcage. Amen.

F40 #92914 at inside Indy parking lot.

Daytona Spyder and 275 GTB/4 from Friday night FCA show at Memorial Circle.

Oh my God ... unrestored and just perfect. So much better looking than these over shiny, over-restored ruined cars. Now where is my big cheque book ;)

Er, Rob cannot see a birdcage anywhere ?

As for birdcage ... must have accelerated away before the camera caught it ;)

    Thanks for the photos ...

    Pete's back in 250LM zone

i have 65 more photos posted on my website if you want to take a look at them. unfortunatly the site castrates down the image quality a little bit to prevent image hijacking.

If you are interested in purchasing or want to see a better quality proof send me a PM thru F-Chat and i will help you out. i am willing to provide a Ferrarichat discount if you order directly thru myself.

You pay huge amounts of money for tickets thru the Ferrari Owners Club and they allow you to sit in the Ferrari Hospitality Suite just above the Ferrari pits.

    Thanks Andreas,

I just wish i had a longer lens for that one but i am sure the crowd in the stnad would not be to happy about a 2 foot long lens swinging back and forth.

Oh well perhaps next year. My photo dealer is checking with Sigma on getting a demo 50-500mm EX HSM and a 300-800 EX HSM lens so that i can give them a test run at the next motorcycle track day ;)

Actually you'd be surprised how patient and understanding most people are. I had quite a few mishaps with the big lens, once slipped and it dinged the woman's head in front of me. But they all take it in good stride. Americans are the best!

Quite a far cry from my last race in Europe where I had the short 300mm lens with me and the guy next to me (a Swiss) got all annoyed at me following the cars along with it. I guess there is one born every minute...

    Andreas,

Quick question? was there any decent places to shoot photos near the fence line in Spain?

The only complaint i have about Indy is the fact that there was a photo platform in my section and they would not let me use it yet a few of the track workers sat there fat butts up there to watch the race :(

Don't even get me started about track workers or professional fotographers and their attitude towards serious amateurs. The most offensive move is, when either of those lovely people decide to sit through an entire practice session at Indy in front of the photographer's hill. I mean c'mon! These guys can go to ANY place and sit ANYwhere, but no some idiot always has to stand right in front of the only three feet of no fence where the low lives like us stand a chance to go home with a decent picture.

As far as Spain is concerned, I can't really tell you. I only went there for the race itself during which you're supposed to sit on your assigned seat (like everywhere else). However if you'd go there during practice I bet there are quite a few good spots somewhat up close. The track is VERY interesting with lots of up and downhill sections. Much more interesting than say Indy, Monza, Imola, Montreal to name a few.

I haven't been to all the tracks, but I would rate Spain right at the top along with Spa and Monaco, from a photographer's/viewer's perspective that is. As I said before, very much like Brands Hatch, where we sadly no longer see F1.
