Can anyone please confirm what the float level is for a 250SWB, the carbs fitted are a standard 40 DCL6, my thinking is 3mm - but not sure. Thanks MW
Thanks Phil - I'm pretty sure it's 3mm with gasket, but just need confirmation, have a good weekend. What's this I here, sold the Boxer ? Cheers MW
ooh I hope so!! But not that I've heard....I better call dad to find out.... Give Jeff a kick up the bum, where's my 308, 328 + 550 parts!! I'm coming over very soon now......tell him to look out.
Ok, I went to work especially for you Malcolm.....nah not really, had to go in for something else, but I looked it up for you anyway. It's 3 - 3.25 mm, but no mention of gasket, so assume without. While you're in there, if engine is standard the other specs are..... Chokes 27mm Mains 150 Idles 60 Pumps 60 Pump stroke 3mm Centres 250 Air corrector 180 Needle 175 Starter 140 Emulsion F8 (20 holes) The 40 DCL's are made from smelted ash trays, and are really susceptible to over tightening of the base...so check the base is flat and that the gaskets are good....... Also ignition is 10-12 deg static and 40-42 at 3300 max advance. Points 15-17 thou Valve clearances cold 6 thou inlet (on valve not cam) 8 thou ex Cam timing.....
