    and because I had to buy it and would not have been able to add it to the purchase price of the car, which I had already sold for much less than I had into it...

    Didn't your car deserve it?

    My car didn't deserve it at first, but after mucho dinero in r/r, it now deserves the tool kit, the luggage, a heated garage.

    I've put a lot of money "in" my cars, it's called maintenance..while it maintains the value, it won't ever come "out."
