Just wanted to pass along that the user "ciccio" passed away in a car accident on Easter. I was just notified by his sister Joanne. He only had two posts, but seemed very active as he had just posted two days before.

Did anyone know ciccio personally? Name of company was YRG Inc.

Damn, that sucks... My thoughts go out to his family...

Did he at least get to the factory...? Not trying to be wise-ass, i'm being serious... He was obviously serious about Ferrari if he only had two posts and his sister somehow knew to get in touch with Rob... i hope he got to go.

Apparently the plan was for Thanksgiving, 2004.

Given the circumstances, belated condolences seem wholly appropriate - much compassion for family and friends of ciccio, for he surely must be missed.

For those who may not know, "ciccio" was the nickname of Alberto Ascari, and roughly translates as "tubby" or "fatso".

Very sorry to hear the sad news.

My condolences to Cicco's family. Hopefully he is chatting with Enzo and Alberto right now.

Take it easy out their guys and girls. Unfortunately this is the 3rd FerrariChat member (that I am aware of) who has died via a car accident (their fault or otherwise), and I know of 2 close calls.

Cars and bikes are fun and things happen, so lets all make sure we make the most of time here, family and hobbies.

    Pete

His post was dated 11-23-03, and indicated "Thanksgiving,

To all who are interested: Ciccio was my best friend Anthony. He was, as you all said, a true Ferrari enthusiast. His collection consisted of a 1987 328 GTB, a 1989 Testarossa, and he had ordered a Stradale a very long time ago which just came in yesterday. I went with his dad to go pick it up. It was Bittersweet. I couldn't help but cry when driving the car home as I know that Anthony was waiting for this day for a very long time. We spoke about the car everyday for 2 years. We mostly observed on these boards and posted very rarely but we definitely have read every thread for the past few years. Myself and Anthony were very interested in anonymity. Don't take it personally. We love the Ferrari company, the heritage and the cars and all that it stands for but we also valued privacy. As most of you know who post on these boards, we don't drive Ferrari's to be looked at, (well some of us do) but most of us truly appreciate the machine. This was our true feelings. It was never about the dollar amount of the cars, just the cars themselves. There is now a garage full of cars (12 to be exact) with 1 less person to drive them and that person is sorely missed. As far as the car goes, it's just awesome. I found the shifting to be a little rough but I then realized that I had the race button activated. When deactivated, it was a little better but I'm sure it takes some getting used to. I can't wait to learn the launch control feature. I was also very impressed with just how loud the car is. It screams. What a car! Yellow with black suede dash and seats with yellow stitching and the steering wheel is yellow and black. Oh yeah, the yellow calipers are smokin hot. The car was not ordered with the stripe but it's being given some serious thought. I'll post some pics soon. Anthony would be proud!!!

poleposition, that must have been really hard for you to be there without him, but i am sure that he would have wanted YOU to drive the car and smile a little for him. i am sorry for the loss to you and his family.
