Good question Dan. I was wondering about these pale green GTOs as well. Here's another one, different number:

I believe the color is Verde Scuro Metallico

I don't understand your question: 'why is it said color'?

Andrew: All of the cars were racing cars, yes? That means that the paint generally specified a team or country. What is the significance of this green color? Not aesthetically pleasing, for sure...

This car (S/N: 3505) was purchased by Mr. Matsuda from Sumpbolic Motors in August, 2000. The color is called "pale green". This car raced under UTD Laystall Team. The 6th 250FGTO manufactured.

The car is s/n 3505 GT. The car was painted to a UDT-Laystall sample, so there is no official Ferrari color; it is just refered to as pale green. After they team sold it in 1963, the car was rapinted red, finally repainted back to pale green by owners Edward and John Harrison in the 1990s. The car is right hand drive. From 1962 to 1965, it had a number of first and second finishes in relatively minor races.

They were going to race it at Goodwood in the Spring of 1962 soon after they picked the GTO up from the factory. But Moss crashed in F1, UDT-Laystall driver Innes Ireland took over the responsibilities of driving that F1 Lotus, and the GTO didn't race.

Good info zjpj. I have seen this car parked next to 250 GTO 4675. He [Matsuda] also owned 3445 but sold it this year.

Is that guy a member of the Matsuda family that ran Mazda for so many years and owned the Hiroshima Carp baseball team?

I believe the colour to be - Verde Chiaro,

Verde Scuro is darker and more 'olive' in hue.

I believe only one car remians in this colour, Eric Heerema of Amsterdam, S/n 3505 GT ?

Alot of the GTO's have been many colours in their lifetimes, and are still changing today, Ralph Lauren is having 3987 GT re-sprayed presently.
