Hey everyone...How about posting the absolute DUMBEST thing you ever did in or with your car? Personnally...I still get so excited about driving it that once I disconnected the trickle charger but didn't remove the wire from the front of the car. "What is that noise?" as I dragged the charger across the garage floor as I am backing out!
Well I hit an empty paint can the other night right in the middle of the on ramp! BAM! It's much shorter now!!!!!
And of course there was the time I backed out of my technician's shop, into HIS Ferrari! LOL Good thing it wasn't the Miura he owns......jus' a GT4....
My mistake! Pulled into a parking space, the guy in the car next to me revs his engine. So I decide to rev my engine. I forgot that my F1 360 won't rev the engine when it is still in gear. I lunge forward and almost into a brick wall.
I hate to admit it, but I drop a F40 rim on the 275GTB door...It still hurt to talk about... Roalnd F40LM
One time and only one time!!! I had shifted into reverse instead of first while at a stop sign and was surprised when I started going backwards as I tried to leave. Too used to the old shift pattern I guess. Luckily I hadn't tried to downshift there but was at a stop when I did it! On the other hand...Just today I was trying to get my truck going while starting out in second and couldn't figure out why it was lugging like it was. Wrong shift pattern again! First paragraph=scary Second paragraph=funny
Forgot to put my e-brake on...on a slight down slope...and made a nice dime-sized bruise in my front bumper cover. Duh.
I was in a rush to keep a 6:45 tee time one morning, took off from my car and left the door wide open. Good thing it was at the CC. DL
I was at my mechanics shop picking up one of my cars, and backed my Ferrari into another Ferrari. Turns out the other Ferrari was mine too!!!! I did some light body and bumper damage, and broke some taillight lenses too. They still talk about it every time I bring a car to the shop.
Delivering a 355 do a dealership. Tubi...no cats beautiful yellow....I look in the rear view mirror and all I can see is yellow....I didn't shut the engine cover right and I was driving down a main street with the hatch going up and down!! I could see people pointing and laughing....embarassing let me tell you
I just had 3 in the 550 and we were going to try for 4. Not including the bike on top! --Dan PS: I know with you it was alla bevy of beautiful babes!
Parked the car uphill leaving the F1 in Neutral with the Handbrake pulled Car slid down and hit the bumper of a truck, minor damage fortunately!
(This was ten minutes before I owned it, an '85 308 Rosso QV in 1995): Said " I'll buy it " and paid cash. I could have put the $37K into Sun, Cisco and other stocks and had about $150K in three years!
When I first bought my euro 308 6 years ago, I did not realize how low the front spoiler is. Sooo, while in a parking lot, I creamed one of those concrete parking stops and did $4000 worth of damage to the front end. The noise was horrific inside the car, even the cops in another parking lot had to come see what happened. Then these vintage looking harley dudes showed up and made me feel even smaller. And now, just a few weeks back I chose the wrong day to drive the 308 to the muffler shop as I got caught in a golf ball sized hail storm that just pummeled my 308 over 300 hail dents - what a racket that was - the noise was extreme from inside the car. So the insurance company is going to foot the bill to strip the original lacquer, replace panels and do a respray to the tune of about $25K, luckily it is insured for $42K. I know where my car will be this winter in the shop. But since the front bonnet is being replaced, I will upgrade to a QV bonnet nice, and I plan on getting rid of the federalized side marker lights in the rear, and fitting the nice round marker lights in the front. Cavallo lives . John
Wow, so to get my car repained all I have to do is find a hail storm!! For my car, a premium job is *only* $6-8k due to all the hand labor involved, and that's a bit silly to spend on a Europa. Ken
