Thanks Husker, I appreciate the condolences...you and I have chatted enough to know when to laugh, when to cry..... My oldest daughter was taken by her mom and only returned to me when she reached legal age..we have since established a wonderful relationship that has salved the wounds of time and is a joy to me today... My first wife left me over the Ferrari, but what's a woman worth if she'd leave you over a CAR? Or the flip side of the Fcar arguement, what's a woman worth if she WANTS you because of a car? LOL! So all's well, after extensive self examination and introspection with therapy on that front as well. If you can't learn something from life's painful experiences, well, then it's just the pain you remember.... My younger two kids are here with me in Houston, and they see me often enough to maintain the relationship. I'm sure my son will one day clash with his mom, (that's MY BOY!) and get thrown out from the house, and move into the swingin' bachelor pad with a waterfall into the pool! Thanks again for the post....hey, there goes a big ol' good 'un!
Cheers to the big ol' good 'un, and cheers to things working out for you. Like many, I grew up in a broken family. And I know that a family can break apart despite your most sincere and earnest efforts; it takes two to make a marriage work. I am glad to hear that the relationships you have with those kiddos is good. My kids are so precious to me I honestly wish they would just stay little and cute, but I know time stands still for no one. My dad always told me "son, enjoy each and every day, because someday you're going to wake up and find that you're an old man." As I just turned 38, it gave me a real pause for reflection. My life is basically half over if the good Lord permits me to live as long as the average American male. Time is fleeting! Take care and God bless you.
You got to respect Speedy, he does love his kids. Gotta respect the man for that. You wanna know something? He used to be one himself. (& sometimes still is.)
I understand speedy, he's trying to make the best out of a situation, sometimes you can't control everything, at least he still has hope for his kid to move with him, I hope he does, every kid need a father, I see it with my son JD who is sorounded by women all the time, he sometimes needs a guys day, doing what guys do: http://eurocarsintl.homestead.com/jd1.html he's a handful but lots of fun, this is what happens when you feed too much icecream to a 3 yr old, je,je,je: http://misfotos.homestead.com/files/My_MINI_Sunday_Drive_June_04_JD2_ggg.JPG
