    Here's a picture of the black NNO in Matsuda's collection... Also, another picture, enlarged, of some 'thing' sticking out of the air intake in the front... It says Matsuda Collection on it, but does anyone know what it is or why it's there...?

    Its a blank license plate thats been painted black, I think I've seen it on several other cars from the collection

    obviously a license plate with the collection name on it to hide the real plate. its on many of his cars

    LOL, no sweat... The logic that it could've been a license plate totally escaped me... i just would never even think that... but now that an explanation has been presented, it makes perfect sense... :)

    I've visited to the collection, even had Matsuda-san himself as my host. The plates are just for his collection, they aren't hiding anything or placed over another plate.

    Wow! That gave me a most excellent idea on mounting a front plate for the Texas cops.

    Note how the horizontal plates does not effect any air flow thru the openings....MOst Excellent idea....hats off to the Matsuda-san. Is he well?

    How long ago was your tour of the collection?

    He's doing fine as far as I know. Last time up to Gotemba was in 2002, but I may swing by again this year. I've probably got 2-3 more trips to Japan that I need to take before the end of the year, so who knows. I'll take pics if I go...

    My copy (in Japanese) was a gift from Matsuda-san. The gift shop of the museum had them, but I haven't seen them outside of Japan.
