I just purchased a Kodak Easyshare DX6340. It was a steal in the local Fry's Electronics ad. Features:

    3.1 Megapixel
    14x Combined zoom
    SD/MMC slot
Semi Adjustable modes (to make way for novices)
Great reviews and easy to use interface

However, the biggest selling point is the Schneider Kreuznach lens. I've heard/read that you can get a 5 Megapixel camera and if it has a crappy lens, then image quality suffers. I've seen camera reviews where they blow up the image (not photoshopped or touched up) to 11x14 from this camera and it turned out great. I'm planning on getting a docking station for it soon.

I still have a longing for my old SLR Cannon (we're talking about circa 1982 that I "borrowed" from my dad) that I used in high school photography class.

I have a Nikon Coolpix 3100. I enjoy the camera and it takes very good photos. The reason I picked the Nikon had more to do with size and ease of use. Plus, I just always wanted a Nikon.

The camera I want REALLY BADLY is the Nikon D-100. The problem there would be my insatiable desire for new lenses.

I still use my old (1972) Canon AE-1. It is a great SLR. There is still something special about shooting rolls of film. That said, if I had a D-100, I doubt I would ever use the Canon again.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-F1, picked it up less than two weeks ago

    3.2 Megapixels
3x optical zoom (because digital isn't worth mentioning)
    Video/Audio recording = Yes

I like because its nice and ultra-compact, but still a decent enough size to feel right.

For the most part for my use, I have a Sony Mavica. I like it because it writes the pictures to a floppy disk. It's very fast for web page shots and quick transfers. I also have the Kodak ES CX6230 for travel.

One the best gadgets I have ever bought.
The only thing I dont like is the lack of long range zoom.
Can't wait for the SLR body digitals to come down in price.
These are some pics I took with it at the 2003 Ferrari French Quarter Classic

I bought a Panasonic Linux with a Leica lens. It's 3.2 megapixel, and the pictures are OK, though I still prefer my film cameras: Leica M4 and Nikon Fe.

Canon G5 and Elph 410. I'm a Leica and Nikon user in 35, but the Canon's seem to be the best performing digitals.

sduke, get a Canon 10d and you can use your Canon SLR lenses on it. That may make me buy the Nikon, as I have a ton of lenses for it.

Just bought a new camera after someone dropped my old one...Sony 5.1 megapixel Cyber-shot. Loving it so far! Especially the manual modes where you can change the shutter speed, etc.

Minolta Dimage G400. 4 megapixels, 3x optical zoom. Small (fits in your shirt pocket), Fast, and it has manual controls (i.e., shutter speed, aperature) if needed. Takes great pictures.

It is a very very underappreciated camera. Looks like I'm a guy who likes underappreciated stuff (i.e., my 308 GT4). Maybe this camera is the 308 GT4 of cameras.

I just bought a Samsung Digimax V5. Seems to be a good camera for relatively little money (around 300 bucks). Good lense (Schneider), 5.0 megapixels. Overall pretty satisfied. I also have a Nikon N80 SLR 35mm that I use.
