Hey, thats funny. I just finished a drawing of that yellow 412P and a 1:43 model of it is heading my way.

Suddenly the car turns up everywhere.

    Great pic, great cars!

Ok, now I'm curious - is the P3/4 a considerably faster car (on track) than the GTO?

But in the good ol' days there would be no stinking chicane.

I would suspect so, the 1962 3-litre GTO engine makes, what, 300hp? And the 412P 4-litre engine makes 420hp, in a mid-engine chassis that is carrying a considerable amount less weight (~200lbs). Id bet that the 412P is more aerodynamic, too.

Great pic, is there a 1024/768 version anywhere?

Of course its considerably faster: GTO 280 BHP versus the P3/4 appr.450 BHP. Two different classes.

Nice! But why is he getting in (or out) of the passenger side? He shoud be piloting that Cambiocorsa! Maybe the F1 experience tires him out of driving street cars...wait, thats not true i have seen videos of him driving 360's and 550's!....hmmm.

Is it a right hand drive car? I see something that looks like keys hanging from what looks like a steering column...

Looks like the picture was taken from a vintage race where in the practice sessions and qualifing the order does not necessarily represent top lapping speeds.

Right on ! The ONLY way to do it is flat out through the uphill, catch some wheel spin at the crest, a slight lift for West Bend , then flat out through downhill. :) :) :)
The chicane at the top was put in as an option for certain race series to use after an IMSA Prototype caught air at the crest of the hill and did a blackflip. I'm pretty sure this is a picture of it. I forgot the driver's name. He survived.

It was John Morton I believe, in a Nissan GTP car. He spoke at one of the Labor Day Vintage Races a few years ago about the accident and his recovery. A very lucky man!

The signage says "MELBOURNE". I bet the photo was taken at the Oz GP and the car was MS's runabout. They drive on the left in Australia.
