I want to purchase a new 360 spider and spec it out the way I like. Are there any dealerships that have open spots since the new 430 is coming out? Does anyone know of a dealership currently taking deposits on 430s?

I don't think any dealership is taking deposits yet because it's not entirely complete and still hasn't been unveiled. Your profile doesn't say where you are from, if you tell us your area someone might be able to reccomend some dealerships.

Those are the 5 dealerships that I have been to down south to look around. The Auto Gallery has at least 6 2004 360's in their inventory so they might be a good one to call.

When you contact the Auto Gallery ask for Micheal Lederman or call Micheal at 310 721 2516 He also runs a company called Motorsports Club. This company puts on events at tracks across the country. You can tell Micheal that Bruce Miller told you to call. He has a lot of personel and business contacts at Ferrari S.p.a. He can get any car that you want.

Thanks a lot. Do you think he might have a spot available to him somewhere so that I could order my car the way I like from Ferrari?

Believe no more orders are being taken for the 360's now that the replacement is so close at hand.

Your best bet is someone that is willing to turn over their spot for a consideration. Or someone that bails on their incoming car that's close to what you want.

Does anyone know of a person with a spot that they don't want? Are any dealerships at all taking deposits on 430s? I have heard that my local scottsdale,az dealership has a waiting list of 7 years, but I hope thats not true.

I am sure if you are willing to pay and buy someone's spot you can get one very quickly. Auto Galery would be your best bet for that approach.

Do you think 360 spider prices will still hold about msrp even after the 430 coupe comes out?

This is fact. Scottsdale Ferrari has been taking deposits for a least 3 years. They have over a hundred people on the wait list. Scottsdale Ferrari requires a $5K deposit.

When the Modena came out, it actually caused F355 prices to jump and hold at that inflated price for about the first year. Classic supply and demand; if you wanted a new(er) Ferrari, you'd have to pay for it. After that they began a slow decline and then as 360s became more available (after 3-4 yrs of production) the inflation was over. Now that the 360 is nearing the end of it's run, prices for both cars, especially the F355 have dropped.

I would expect the same thing to happen again in the first few years of the replacement's production.

Is that 100 people on the list for the 430? Is that a lot of people? Would you recomend going somewhere else to get on the list for a 430?

If there's 100 people there, there's 100 people almost everywhere. Sorry to say, but you're too late.

By the way, there was a thread awhile a go about Scottsdale Ferrari's "customer service", or lack there of. Basically it came up that, unless you were spending tons of $$$ on new cars and servicing them, it didn't matter when you placed your order, you'd get it when they were done with there "friends". Although, I'm sure this isn't something they do exclusively.

FNA requires dealers to sell at MSRP. They also require customers to buy from a dealer in their geographical area. Beyond that, different dealers have different policies regarding wait lists, deposits and who gets what. Call around, but I think the only way you can spec out a 360 to your tastes is to buy a spot from someone. Denver sold out 360's years ago. I put a deposit on a "430" coupe 22 months ago and I'm told should get one during 2006. Last I talked to them, they said they may already have enough deposits for the entire 430 spider production if it goes the usual 4-5 years.

    Good luck,
    Dave

It’s time to get to know your local F-car dealer! Get on their “A” list and they will be throwing you some good slots. I know of a CS that may be available for spec. However It's been a couple of weeks and they may have found a taker by now.

There's more than 100 people on the list for the 430. And this list is for the 430 coupe only. You need to plunk down another $5K if you want on the 430 spider list. I don't know how many people are on the spider list. The "average" Ferrari dealer might get 15-20 F430's a year. As you can tell, Scottsdale Ferrari has enough customers for 6-7 years of sales.

I have a friend who has purchased Ferraris from Scottsdale in the past. When the 360 came out, he put deposits down on the coupe and the spider. He was number 52 on the couple list and 86 on the spider list. He never did get either car. Friends of the dealer or preferred customers were always put in front of him. So getting on a dealer's list doesn't mean you will ever get a car.
