Oh man where do I begin? :D I used to work at a restaurant that had at least 500 different beers on hand at any one time & would constantly change out the stock for the sake of variety. FWIW they used to call me "Ben the Beer Guy" there...because my name is Ben (of course, doh!:)) & I was the unofficial "quality control" person (i.e. I just liked to drink 'em all :D).

    Favorite...
-All-American Drinkin' With the Boys Beer: Miller Lite all the way!
    -pils/lager: Pilsner Urquell...can't beat THE original :)
-belgian tripel: Duvel or Delerium Tremens
    -belgian dobbel: Grimbergen Dobbel
-American stout: Andersen Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout (a mouthful in many ways) or Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout
-weiss beer: eh, either Berliner Kindel Weiss w/woodruff syrup or plain ol' Hacker Pschorr Weiss
-barley wine/strong ale: J.W. Lee's Harvest Ale, Samichlaus, Cesarus Impertator Heller Bock, Sam Adams Triple Bock, Skull Splitter
-best damn thing to come out of Canada: anything & everything from the Unibroue Brewery (La Fin Du Monde, Trois Pistoles, Raftman, et cetera...)
    -wit beer: Manekin Pis
-American amber: Magic Hat #9, Liberty Steam Beer, Abita Amber
-American pale ale: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Alimony Ale (forget the brewery, but called the "Bitterest Beer in America", how quaint :))
    -lambic: Lindeman's Pesche or Framboise
-doppel bock: Paulaner Salvator Doppel Bock (a litre of this stuff will paint an ear-to-ear smile on your face for hours...trust me :D)
-"weird" & other beers: Daleside's Morocco Ale, anything from DeDolle Broureri in Belgium, Fraoch's Grozet, Kelpie (yes, with kelp), Alba (with Scots Pine) & Heather Ale (actually brewed with heather flowers), everything from the LaChouffe Brouweri
-last but certainly not least is La Binchoise Speciale Noel which I can only describe as all the smells, tastes, and memories of every Christmas around the world since it's inception all wrapped up and squeezed into a liquid nectar & blessed by God :D ...seriously, it's that damn good.

Alrighty, that's enough for now & it's starting to make me salivate a bit just thinking & writing about 'em :D

Any of you beer aficionados: are there any other Belgians of the same type that you recommend I try?

Good Point. But why the hell were we playing a game of cars betting toothpicks? we needed more beer, so the ante could have gone up.
