Miller was truly a genius, although he sometimes struggled as a business man.

Thanks for that link! I missed a chance on "The Miller Dynasty" by Dees, when it was reprinted, and now it's too expensive as an "Out of Print" title!

I do have the Borgesen book on the 4WD Special, it's great. The Offy of INdy fame is of course, a Miller.

    A Miller/Leach Special ran Indy 500 in 1921 and again in 1922. ;)

Are you aware of the site www.ScaleAutoworks.com?
They do a nice rendition of the Miller 91....

    Great website!

It's been argued that Bugatti was very much influenced by Miller, in particular the extreme attention to detail...

    Holy Smackers! PSk!

They show to have the "Dynasty" book available! For $250.
Many thanks, if I get to it in time......anyway.

Also a signed copy of the Borgesen "Miller" title, which I do have, but unsigned. As Griff is gone now, that's a pearl also.......

I'm on it, man. Like a duck on a June bug........

There's a link thru that site, to ScaleAutoworks....

The "Miller" book recounts the recovery of a Miller from the Bugatti FACTORY, which was returned to the US, restored and gifted to the Smithsonian..

The Bugatti type 51 GP car was greatly influenced by Miller. Ettore bought two Miller racing cars and tore them down and had his designers study the DOHC layout and the combustion chamber design. They also copied the front drive system and built a 4wd Bugatti hillclimb car (Type 59 maybe?).

    Well, lets see....

Which would be faster in a 0-60MPH Shootout?

A Miller 91 with over 100,000 miles on the odo, or a Ferrari 4 Headlight 330 2 +2 with a bad rear main seal oil leak?

This would be on a wooden board track, to negate the advantage of the "Modern" XWX tires........

    :)

Assume a .86 traction factor, once the Ferrari starts to slide on it's own oil! LOL
