    Gentlemen:

The battery on my 308 discharges after 10 days to 14 days of idleness. Had the battery checked and it was found to be good. I rather suspect that the diodes in the alternator are bad. Any secrets to having the bloody thing rebuild or taking it off the vehicle?? Owners manual say it is a Bosch 0.120.489 - 641 (55 Amp).

    As always, thanks in advance.

Are yiou sure the alternator is at fault? That's easy to test. My bet is on some other current drain: my Mondial would do that. Whan I checked, I found that the problem was not uncommon. Look for a light somewhere, or if you don't want to go through all that, a battery cut-off switch.
