Dear Steve, It looks rather similar to a P100. You may be interested to learn that some four years or so ago there was a white P100 on the roads of Hampshire which had been fitted out with an RS500 engine and complete drive train. Regrettably, I do not possess a photograph. However, it did duff up quite a number of Porsche's at Goodwood.
Dear 512 tea are Yes the rs 500 engine and box is a direct fit into the p1,however i do have concerns with the brakes and suspension coping with an rs 500 engine, Dale.
Dear Graham (assuming that Tony has worked out your name ) It may surprise you to learn that the subject of this thread was a 308 spider conversion spotted at Verdi's. Why don't you start a separate thread on your passion for the P100 and then you can ramble on to your hearts desire with possibly the odd contribution from other members. You will be able to remember the way things were, talk freely about the P100 Porsche eater and perhaps even something about the way the Royal Family feel about the good old P100. regards James
Listen m8, Why dont you piss off elsewhere with your meaningful crap talk about P100,s perhaps even start your own fordp100chat or similar. Your begining to piss me right off . And if you want to take it off line ill gladly give you my Mob No and we can discuss it face 2 face. Comprende :-( grrrrrrrrrrrr
Hmm. 308 looks like a pretty good barchetta tribute t'me. BTW - are RS 500s any better than P100s? Hi Graham.
Dear Gnasher, Steve mentioned the RS500 which is within a Ferrari workshop. I merely stated that some four years ago there was a P100 in Hampshire which had an RS500 engine and drive train fitted. As the P100 is a pick up version of the Sierra I thought this may be of interest. Certainly Steve seems to think so. However one or two others seem to have become a little upset. It is always a little disappointing when aggressive threats are made when one is just trying to be genuinely helpful. However, JRS wants to set up a P100 thread just for me; which is exceedingly kind of him. For myself, I think some of the contributors to this site can hardly wait for my occasional visits to the forum and thus to divest themselves of their latent aggression.
Dear JRS, Thank you for your kind comments. If it is generally agreed that I may have my own P100 thread I shall place such a thing. I suspect that it may well prove to be the most popular thread on the whole forum. Perhaps there should be a 'Poll' posted to determine whether indeed I should be allowed to 'Post' the "512 TEA ARSE P100' thread.
Dear Tony, Steve mentioned the RS500 which is a P100 derivative. I merely wished to assist Steve in gaining further knowledge concerning the potential attributes of a P100 inter alia the complete engine and drive train replacement with RS500 components. Everything fits. And as the P100 is lighter, it is likely to be much more accellerative than the RS500 - particularly if one leaves the low axle ratio in situ. If anyone wishes to perform this conversion I do know the whereabouts of a complete RS500. My P100 has always lived outside and in fourteen years has never failed to commence. Furthermore, I do not understand why such a reliable and sturdy vehicle should cause such scorn to be poured over both it, and its illustrious owner. In the old days all Ferraristii were gentlemen and drove twelve cylinder motor cars. I have observed that the insults seemingly come from the eight cylinder drivers. Steve, has a twelve cylinder car and even though he comes from Yorkshire still manages to behave like a gentleman!
Not entirely true as even Steve has been known to indicate a level of anger toward some of your posts ! Go back and look at earlier threads.
Graham -512 Tr- There is a seperate section for "cars & motorcycles" in off topic. Pls post further P100 stuff there.
Dear Tony, Thank you very much indeed for your kind attention and respective advice. However, Steve has already placed a '512 Tea Arse P100 Post' which presumably has been performed without your express permission? Naturally, and in deference to your goodself, I shall of course ignore it. But please be aware that it was not I that posted it. When time permits I shall heed your advice and will 'Post' my 'Adventures With A P100' within the sector which you have so kindly me informed me of.
Dear JRS, It would seem that you may not read my 'Posts' with due dilligence. I stated that Steve was a gentleman - which does not mean that he cannot become angry with me. Indeed, he may only become angry with me because he may, on occasions have misinterpreted' or misunderstood what I have 'Posted' - as you have done in this instance.
Listen Graham or whoever you are, If your info or chat is Fcar related then thats fine , but you do seem to irritate folk with your mannerisim ?? Perhaps its all a bit of fun ( hey we all like a laugh!!!!) but you do tend to persist in OFF TOPIC jargon :-( Which to say the least is somewhat annoying in "LARGE DOSES" If you must post P100 stuff fine but do it OFF TOPIC pls?? Amen "over and out" Roger bilco!!!
Can someone tell me how it shows I started this thread? I didn't start this. This was started by tonyh on 7/10 and some how was split. How did this happen?
That was me; i tried to seperate some posts that had nothing to do with the 308 and ended up in a right mess
Ok, Thanks for clearing it up. I'm still pretty new to this board and wasn't sure how it could happen. Then this thread was getting strange about off topic issues and whatever. I didn't want to be the fall guy......... No problem.........now I understand.
