The Enzo may be exotic but it looks hideous (yes, I've seen several in person...). Plus, you can't get it with a stick. If I had the money (and the private road course on which to enjoy it), I would buy the CGT -- it's an engineering masterpiece.
Drove an Enzo briefly. Have not driven the Carrera GT, nor the Merc. My choice would be Enzo, then Carrera GT, then into the F40/F50 range, and then to the 360CS. I skip the Merc as it's a boat, IMHO... more of a GT car. Definitely not my style. The Enzo is IMHO the closest to F1 racing we can get on the road, which to me is the ultimate goal.
Kind of pointless posting a thread like this on a Ferrari enthusiasts' site, don't you think? Try posting it on a Porsche board and see which way the poll swings. I'm sure the response, while different, will be equally predictable. Hell, if you add the Viper to your list of choices and post it on a Viper board, the damn thing will probably win the poll.
While we're having fun, why don't you make the "Blue Devil" a choice and post it in a Corvette forum as well?
Why not the 1988 Calloway Corvette Sledgehammer - STILL the fastest car in the world... Achieving a top speed of 254 - higher than even that of the coveted McLaren F1...!
Uhm, don't think so. Is the Sledgehammer the fastest "passenger car?" Nope. Gale Banks' 287mph Firebird holds that record. Then, maybe the Sledgehammer is the "fastest production car?" I quote Reeves Callaway: "...of course the Sledgehammer is not a production car, but it shows in a spectacular manner our technical capabilities and proves an 880 hp sports car may be used in a day-to-day manner, similar to any other Corvette." So that only leaves the title of "fastest modified car that is street legal in the US." Well, maybe, but have you been to your local dragstrip lately?
ROTFLMAO...!!! i said CAR, not spaceship...! The Sledgehammer can be driven down the street, to the store... That thing cannot...
F50 for me to many electronic gadgets on the enzo second choice would be a Mclaren then you could drive all day with a babe on each side competing to be the best mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Driving to Nürnberg two weeks ago I was passed by a Mercedes SLR. When I saw it coming I thought is was just an SL with body kit...wasn't until it passed that I realised what it was...not impressed. There's a guy in the town I live who drives his Enzo regularly (relatively). I've seen it three or four times now...although not my taste, its still very impressive. Cheers Simon
As much as I dislike the looks of the Enzo the happiest day of my life was the day I sold my Porsche so I'll go with the Enzo
I would take the Enzo. It really is the best supercar available right now IMO. It is a technological masterpiece. The design, although controversial, has a purpose and I like that not everyone loves the way it looks.
Sorry, not a tough choice for me. I find the design of the Enzo and SLR equally unbalanced and ugly. And I deeply dislike the semi-automatic tranny in the Enzo (let alone the full auto of the SLR). So it has to be Carrera GT. Red. Or Yellow.
Carrera GT. I dislike the styling of the Enzo, and it would appear from reading various professional reviews (ex.: Top Gear) that the SLR offers little feedback to the driver.
Well i know TOP GEAR or 5TH GEAR tested the CC8S which is rated at 655HP and it replaced the F1 in the Guiness book as the most powerful car. You can find a video clip of the test at sleepy-fish.com I think. I dont believe the top speed was mentioned but it must be close given the amount of HP and weight. The CCR has a little over 800HP so I would imagine it would be faster. Check out the car at their site it's a beast! http://www.koenigsegg.com/index.asp
SLR - No Contest, Have you heard one of these things ????? I'd buy just for the noise alone...... The best sounding motor car ever - Bar None ! Seb
porsche red is very unattractive and a dead color..corsa rosa is just a different kind of red.... i would never get a p car in red... in fact they sell very few in red and are harder to resell....silver, grey and black are the best porsche colors, even fro the cgt
both the enzo and the cgt sound much better the slr...i would consider an immediate otolaryngology consult as several serious diseases can cause auditory problems!!!
