That looks like it would be a monstrously fast car.

I can't help but think that for the money spent he could have bought something more inherently interesting than a Ford Escort, but Karl then has an F40 so where do you go from there??

    Robert.

It's a shame it's stuck at the back of his garage. Karl quoted it as being as quick if not quicker than an F40. Is he selling it ?

I have been visiting Karl's workshop for the past 18 months and it hasn't moved so I suspect not. It is currently undergoing an engine re-build I believe.

Karl used to take the car out on the track quite a lot. The car has been off the road for 4 years, but not for much longer!

As an aside, I have an Escort Cosworth built to the same spec. However, when dynoed, mine made 436 ft lb of torque @ 2bar of boost...

    Dear Steve,

Perhaps it is the eternal theory of 'All Torque and No Go.' Only twelve cylinder Ferrari's have proper torque. All these Escort and Sierra boys only ever torque about it. They are the virgins of the Supercar stakes.

SteveF: If you doubt what I am saying, speak to Karl..He has driven my Escort. I'll let him tell you about his comments.

Having owned a Lamborghini Diablo and 911 Turbo, I think I qualified to judge what a quick car is. If you think a Cosworth cannot be made to go quicker than most Ferrari's, you're living in a dream land..

    SteveF,

You have to understand that the fact that I did not complete my profile until today is not because I did not want to, but because for most of the other forums I have been on it is not a such a big deal...

    Good Morning Tony,

I hope you don't mind - but I observed this excellent thread slipping down the list and felt an overwhelming compulsion to rescue it and place it in its rightful position adjacent to the other thread which Steve had placed concerning a certain 'Wonder Truck' which I have been forbidden from mentioning.

Also, good morning to Steve H, JRS, Speedy 308 and all other Ferraristii including Ray 360M who has troubled to 'Post' such a magnificent photograph of a twelve cylinder Ferrari Barchetta, which he observed, and photographed whilst on the Solent betwixt Southampton and the Isle of Wight and has so kindly 'Posted' for the edification and delight of his comrades upon this forum. (Please see the '512 Tea Arse Cosworth P100' thread).

    Dear Ferraristii Comrades,

Wassup? Why has this excellent thread been allowed to peter out?

I guess that it may have something to do with the subject, clearly a very limited audience as it relates to RS 500's.

What decision have you reached about starting up your very own P100 thread ? I suspect that you are troubled by the amount of abuse you will need to endure as a result.

    Good Morning Comrade JRS,

I know, I am absolutely hopeless! However, I am now firmly within the 'Inner Circle' of Toeknee Hopskins, Steve H, Sletti, Ray 360M, Gnasher 328 & F50 and even the 'Top Man in America' - I am even contemplating my imminent resignation from the Freemasons, as I cannot possibly belong to both 'this and that'

    Enjoy the ride.
