I've got this nifty pair of Mezlan alligator skin shoes - well, only the toe is alligator, but nevertheless, I need to polish them.

I'm quite handy with some polish, a rag, and some spit ( I know, sounds masturbatory, but it isn't). The Marine Corps taught me well in regards to spit-shining leather. However, I don't know if alligator skin can be polished using the same wax, or if different wax must be used.

Anyone here with any experience that can guide me? Thanks.

Yes, I just use the same old leather wax and they shine up beautifully.

By the way, for all you non-military people out there ;) polishing shoes is something that you should do after EACH time you wear the shoes. It will vastly extend the life of your shoes, not just make them look good. If you don't the little microscopic bits of dust that collect will cut into the leather, evenutally causing creasing and cracking.
