As you said, it certainly isn't a garage queen. My GTB gets serviced and is driven regularly.

Barry, what's all that sand at the bottom of the second photograph?

 

I have the Koenig body kit brochure for the 328 and that body kit is the one they design for the 328 not the 308. The 308 body kit keeps the black bumpers of the 308 also notice the 328 fog lamps, front grill and rear grill on that car, now I am asking myself how can that body kit be out in the market with 328 fog lamps and extras before the 328 model was ever out. The Koenig 328 body kit might easily fit on a 308 anyways and if that car is a 308 then this conversion was done afer the 328 was out and it was fitted with the 328 Koenig body kit. Which also dictates that the 288GTO was also out in the market. What I really think is that this car is a 328.

 

You would know if Bob Norwood did the conversion in a heart beat because his 308 to 288 works included that the wheelbase was stretch to the same as a real 288GTO, he did the body panels the same dimensions as his 308/288 Bonneville GTO which had real 288GTO body panels, he had to cut the chassis to stretch it to match the wheelbase, also his 308 rebodied cars to 288 look identical to the real thing from the outside. Norwood doesn't do this anymore but another person who does is italianauto.com but their conversions are not totally true to the real deal and the wheelbase stays stock.

 

This looks like a job from Berlinetta Motors not Norwood or Italianauto.

 

Now you really confuse me. The owner told me that he sent his 308 to Konig Germany to do the conversion. And that he got. He did not buy the kit to install himself. May be the kit was for the 328 but if the kit has to fit to 308 then, Konig has to do it. I don't know. I would be very nice if you could post the brochure for us.

That's some sort of absorbent granular material that the shop uses to soak up any fluids leaking from the car. It was having a major service done, so oil, transmission fluid and coolant was leaking when I took the picture. They just swept everything up later and the floor was clean.

Again, another clean, stock carb 308....just beautiful!!!!!!! Congrats!! Between you and 308GTB, it's a purists paradise.

 

Thanks. LOL, yeah, she is utterly stock, and I'm funny about it e.g. I've just bought a new header tank made out of alloy, instead of the original steel, and I'm currently umming and ahhhing about whether to just polish it up, or to paint it black as per standard .......

Great 308's guys. I'm new around here, but I'll try to figure out how to post a pic. Mine is a 1984 308 GTB Quattrovalve with factory 16" alloys and a euro front spoiler. The rest of the car is bone stock with the exception of an Alpine CD. It's black metallic (nero?) with tan leather. I've owned it for about 7 years and I love it and drive it regularly. I agree with the posts above pertaining to the 308's drivability and timeless looks and appeal. A buddy of mine has a new twin turbo 911 and is jealous of the looks of my ride. He would convert to Ferraris in a second if they made a 308 with the power of his Porsche.
I plan to do some mods this winter mainly upgrading the suspension and brakes.
By the way, I love the 288 replica that was posted. Looks to be very nicely done.

Resized the photos. Thanks for the suggestion as I'm not extremely computer literate. I did however install new timing belts and did a valve adjustment on my 308 this week. I guess I'm willing to trade that handiness for cyber savyness.

It must be great just to be in that garage. You know I think there are only a few of those cars in Thailand. I know there are five countaches, one 288GTO and one of the classic 250GT. They are so valuable here. So whenever those cars turn up at the show, it just like you see god. I saw one yellow countach making a U turn in the street of Bangkok nearly 20 years ago. That picture is still in my mine.
