Hey guys. Thanks for all the information. I went to the watch store down here and fell in love with the Cartier Roadster. Sorry Hubert, I know I betrayed you . I looked at the IWC's but did not really like any of them. Well thanks again everyone.

I really like the Roadster, but I've been advised against it by pretty much everyone...

 

It's all a matter of taste and what you like. Hey, someone out there has to own that "interesting" Viper watch, right?! ;-)

There's nothing wrong with the Cartier Roadster...unfortunately, you're paying for the name not the complexity of the movement or craftsmanship of the timepiece.

 

Cartier. Has a nice ring to it.

Buy what you like Keith. The rest don't matter.

 

What is the retail on the Roadster anyway? $4500?

 

Retail I believe is $4250. This Roadster model right? not the leather band one.

You should be able to buy the watch without paying more than $3300.

You are right. I got the watch for about that price. I thought that the $4200 was a bit high but the retail location down here does about 20% off for us so it came out to be good. Honestly, after looking at all the different brands and watches, this one just looked the best. I am pretty "picky" with watches I buy, and this one struck out at me. All and all I just bought what I thought looked the best and had a good company behind it.

 

I would have gotten it for you for about $3k from an authorized US dealer...just an FYI for future reference. There are a few different Roadster models on the market now including a Chrono as well. Not a bad piece Keith and if you like it, then that's all that matters. Wear it in good health (I sound like a parent...). ;-)
