sup Mayur good to see you finally post I will see you in CC soon!
Got the fax, jon, thanks. So who's actually in for this? Jon, Hubert, sounds like definite yes. Rene? Clyde? Vik? Others? And when would we need to leave the city to get there on time?
they say it only takes 40 min to drive there. so i guess u can do the math....and estimate ballpark when to leave looks like the brunch is going to be VERY TASTY
concours begins at 8 judging starts at 10 food i would think at 12 so we should leave at no later than 10.
I'm in. Hey G-money, what time are you planning on heading up from here in NJ? Maybe Clyde wants to join us...and any others from this side of the pond as well of course.
we are leaving no later than 9 or 10. rain or shine for me, at least.... afterall the food is in the hotel not with the ferraris outside.
Got the fax, thanks. Reading it I see $90/person rather than per car. I'm interested, but am checking with the g/f for permission I'll have a decision by tomorrow.
Fiddy / fiddy at this point. Weather's actually lookin' halfway decent at this point. Clear but cloudy on Saturday; showers, (but no heavy rains) on Sunday.
Hey Clyde - in case you missed it Jon posted that sending a check to them overnight today and noting it on the fax gets us $45/pp... but to get that would require a decision today. Otherwise I guess it's $90 again.
JC twisted my arm. I'm in. Actually, I'm happy to support CC. Guess I need to clean the car from last night. Us "Tunnelers" tend to get a little dirty shuttling back & forth. Any wax on/wax off parties before Sunday?
The worst part is going to be the Palisades Pkwy, #1 the speed limit is 50MPH #2 it's only 2 lanes wide, someone hogs up that left lane you can sit behind them for miles #3 the cops on that pkwy are thick as thieves
a couple of us going are in some 'ticket troubles' so we cant take a leisurely drive and not such a spirited one.
Looks like it, at exit 9 off the Palisades either I have to get off for a mile or two and pick up a buddy of mine or he may meet us on the Pkwy and come in his Porsche Boxster S.
Early in the AM on a Sunday is actually a great time to take the Palisade Pkwy. As a kid I used to race up and down that road (not a great idea, but I was a kid) to the NYS line and back. You probably won't see too many cops and as long as you don't push it (you know what I mean) it's be a great drive. Very scenic, especially if the weather holds out. See you up there...
We've done this run before in the early AM, and it rocks. Not familiar with the intended route to get to the concours, but if we can take this we should. I agree with Eric, it's the perfect two-laner. I can't drive fast though -- you have to promise to keep it under 140mph.
Remind me again, who's in trouble with pushing the envelope? I think I'm up for a leisurely, scenic drive. Don't want my pony getting to the concours all hot 'n sweaty.
have to pay just to just look, or are the fees just for people showing cars? last two years i went, lookers were free....
