    I've often wondered, with all the rumours at the time sounding like madness, what really IS the highest price a standard F40 has changed hands for, during the peak (1990?)? The only figure I know for sure was the $US820k I paid in 1989. Anyone know any REAL figures (not just rumours). No names necessary.

    We have a 1991 F40 in Kansas City that sold new for 1 million dollars, that car is still owned by that buyer and only has approximatly 350 miles.

    It is in a private and large collection and is well known and NOT for sale.

    Forgot to mention, the bottom dropped out of the market shortly there after. There was a lawsuit as a result.
