Try the Hot Wheels Ferrari website...you can order from there i think. I've see some 612's, 575's and Stradales at Target before, check them out in the toy section. Hey you have an RX-8? Me to!

Yes the stripe can be removed, but there are a white painted line under it. You can try to remove it with nail polish remover.

as cavallinomodels so aptly pointed out, there is a thin line painted on the model along where the stripe goes - driver's side. this is surely to guide the people or machines sticking the stickers on.

the rear deck is plastic while the rest of the places the stickers are is metal. and that rear deck had a solid bit of this white stuff as it crossed the edge. i guess the QC testing showed that extra guidance was needed (?). i was extra-careful cleaning the plastic, but in the end i'm not sure i needed to be.

i used nail polish remover (you unmarried guys will have to go to the local CVS or Walgreens) but considered using GoofOff (my wife doesn't do nail polish more than once or twice a year, so i was surprised she had any in the house). i dipped q-tips into the nail polish remover and scrubbed/wiped (the roof was easy, the hood was hard) the "stuff" off. i guess it's paint, but who knows. use a new q-tip frequently or you'll liquefy the "stuff" and end up spreading it around. it took me three q-tips (so six q-tip ends) to do the car. the big chunk in the back on the plastic came right off, though required much more careful detail cleaning given the volume of the crap.

btw, hot wheels did a junky job on the interior. disappointing. hopefully someone will come out with a better version with a proper CS-design, alcantara interior, proper central tunnel, dash, etc. etc.

    doody.
