Well lets see. With 200Lbs of sand in the back you can drive a Gremlin in three feet of snow. Try that in a freeking Enzo. You can have sex in a Gremlin, something that will not work in the Enzo. You can fit three fishing poles and a bunch of bait without worring about it in a Gremlin. Try that in your stinking Enzo. And when you get in a wreck you can still drive your Gremlin and nobody will notice. Its about time people started to notice these classic cars.
Who's laughing now, mister? Looks like another episode of "separated at birth" to me....I reckon a black stripe on the Enzo and you've got "his 'n' hers". Cheers Kevin Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Saw an old AMC station wagon on the road today, thought all of them has virtually disintegrated. (Not totally sure what model, looked like it had styling influences from the AMX, but it was pre-Pacer era, and later than the Gremlin). Think of all those 70's cars:- none lasted, compared to iron from the previous decades; this was truly a low water mark in the US car industry as our steel industry fell apart, the gas crunch hit, safety regulations strangled any possibility of performance, and our national sentiment, after Watergate and Vietnam, was completely the opposite of the flashy, tail-finned, v-8 behemoths that represented the American spirit in the late 50's into the sixties. Still love those Lincoln 4 door convertibles, the early Riviera and Toronado, Caddy convertibles up to 66 and the 69 camaro. Though the Hemi cars surely had the straight line grunt, i found their styling a bore. Hell, compared to the ubiquitous German style imitating a Japanese sedan imitating a Mercedes which is imitating a Chrysler imitating a Lexus which is a boring copy of a Mercedes, even a Corvair looks refreshing. While we are currently in another golden age of performance cars, the styling of the "average sedan" (and even the high priced Euro-sedans) leaves me cold. Anybody got a supercharger kit for a Pacer?
We're not worthy, we're not worthy!!! THAT is the funniest thing I have seen in a while! Poor Carbon. DL
Well, we all know that the "racing heritage" enthusiast will not be on the side of the Gremlin, despite it's strong showing in the GT class.
Saw a Gremlin the other day, it looked like it had been sitting in the bottom of the ocean for 15 years totally rusted out, I think all Gremlins came with factory rust from the AMC plant. I can't believe a great company like AMC is gone after making such classics as the Hornet, Pacer, and Matador also.
Havent you guys heard, its NOT ABOUT THE NUMBERS!! Go AMC. Put some nitrous on that bad boy, and you got yourself a real Pacer stomper!!
I did some research on this race last night. The Lambo is in the process of picking through all of the Lap cars in front of it. Notice how all the "slow" cars are moving to the right to allow the faster car to get by without incident. Proper racing technique.
