Does anyone have a collection of Ferrari MP3 files? I'd love to have a V-12 firing up for my phone ringer.

    abolutely agree w/ Art.

I know we've debated to death the Rendezvous car issue (that Lelouche was not driving a Ferrari in the film), but what did we decide on the audio of the motor? a 4-cam 275??

    Bryan,

What did we decide the car was? I'm pretty sure the consensus was that the sound track was a Ferrari racing V-12.

Smiles - I'm sorry for the hijack

Art - I though someone provided a link that had a comprehensive listing of the mistakes/factoids re: the film. My memory says that it was some kind of Mercedes sedan . . . I'll do a search tonight . . .

    No problem, Art.

And I am interested to hear the definitive story of Rendezvous. My uncle showed me the film some fifteen years ago, and I have a VHS copy in my collection.

A 4 minute MP3 in stereo sound of the 1994 Ferrari Formula 1 car testing at Fiorano. The engine is a V12.

Go to F1archives.com, then the top of the second page of MISC F1 CLIPS. :)

Go to www.borowskirace.com and click on any of three Ferrari buttons. You'll find a recent Daytona engine overhaul I did being run on the dyno, a road test of my car, and a testarossa modified exhaust system I built. Hope you enjoy them.

Wow! Thanks, guys, for the responses.

I plan on recording the sound of my 330's V-12 some time soon, and will post it on FerrariChat.

And now I should apoligize to Art and Bryan, because I'm going to bring Rendezvous back up (after complaining earlier.)

I found this description of the route that Claude Lelouch took through Paris in June's ClassicCars magazne, and thought I'd share it:

"Start at the Porte Dauphine near Boulevard Lannes and head east on Avenue Foch to the Arc de Triomphe. Go down the Champs-Elysees, and on into Quai des Tuileries, left through the Place du Carrousel and past the Musee du Louvre. Follow Avenue de l'Opera north past Place de l'Opera and then Rue de la Chaussee d'Antin into Rue de Clichy. The remaining route is tricky, but if you go north east on Rue Caulaincourt you'll come out behind the famous rendevouz point--the Basilique du Sacre Coeur in Montmarte."

(I apologize for losing the appropriate accent marks.)

So, what's the final conclusion? What kind of car was used? (The blurb I quoted above re-told the notion that the camera was indeed mounted on a 275 GTB.)

By the way, I will buy the remastered DVD.
