From a review of the 997 in the NYTimes.... "HAMELN, Germany THE drivers returned to their base as wide-eyed and exhilarated as fighter pilots back from a combat mission. The topic of their bragging was not downed MIG's, though, but their heroics at the wheel of the revamped Porsche 911 Carrera, which goes on sale in the United States at the end of next month. Most of these daredevils - actually, automotive writers from around the world - said their speedometers reached 220 kilometers per hour, or nearly 140 m.p.h. Another reported 250 k.p.h. One brave soul claimed 280 k.p.h., or 175 m.p.h. That is flying, even if you haven't left the ground. On reflection the next morning, speeds like those seemed foolhardy, even irresponsible, on public roads. Driving so fast would be unthinkable on the New Jersey Turnpike." NY TRI-STATE CREW RESPECTFULLY BEGS TO DIFFER... nlh
The 997 Turbo will be a really nice car I never really seen anything special in the Regular Carrera and Carrera S models even the C4S they are good cars but dont have the soul and raw power of the turbo. It would be nice to have the 430 Monza and 997 Turbo in my garage..
no way bro the Carrera GT is a true supercar! I dont know about the other porsches but the CGT is a brute! PS. DO YOU EVER SLEEP?!
OK, now them is fightin' words Beeatch! You better bring your gloves with you to the Palisades this morning boy cause I'm goin' to have to put you in your place! ;-) 993 Rock da house...996's do kinda blow though. No soul...
the thing is you see it in erics eyes that he wants one and is going to get one, i think he jsut likes to torture himself on his offtime.
Maybe he'll walk into Classic Coach, see the Enzo, and pounce. He indicates that's how he usually purchases his cars.
I think the Enzo may be pushin' it a little (my Enzo plate will read...DIVORCED), but you're right, I never just jump in without "feeling it" first. I usually wait for an opportune situation and then move very quickly. It's in my eyes (and elsewhere I might mention) for sure at this point (just imagine for a second driving up the Palisades Pkwy on a Sunday morning in a pack of beautiful F-cars...and then you realize that you're in an AUDI!). Nothing wrong with that of course...but it does draw me closer to the inevitable. ;-) It's no longer a matter of if...it's only a matter of when. For pete's sake, it's become regular family conversation at this point! Eric
