Mark- what car is in your avatar?
I'm glad you asked... it's my favorite Ferrari. I always thought the Enzo needed a big fat wing! ( I sound like Allan now ) The car is for sale (see the supercar section). Solly, you should buy it...you'd look good in it and then maybe I could get a ride. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24024&page=1&pp=20
Well that catholic school slut has been a fiance of mine for 3 years, so I think I am well versed in the noise dept.
I've never heard of a single stock Z06 running high 11's. On occasion low 12's are possible. I've only read of and heard of Z06's running 12.3's at the fastest. With some modifications, it's possible, I just don't see it running 11.8's especially when Vipers/ Murcielagos/GT3's are faster and making those times. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
I'm not a fan of GM but, for best bang for the buck, you do have to go with the Vette. Even the Z06 gets something like 23mpg city 32mpg highway. Yea, that's right. I'm not kidding. With "petrol" prices what they are there in England (you are in England right?) I'd say that has to factor into your purchase for an everyday driver. I'm not a fan of the Vette interior but knowing the problems of the 348 interiors... well I'll just leave it at that. For what it's worth I live in Los Angeles and have a Toyota MR2 Turbo. 0-60 in just under 6sec (w/ just an inducton mod) and get 21mpg city and 30mpg on the highway. That's with an engine with over 160,000 miles on the odomiter. Plenty of trunk room and removable tops. It's small enough to get into tight parking spots and has mid engine handling. Goes unnoticed by most but, at the car wash the other week I had about 5 fifteen year olds asking me about it and taking a few picks. Put about $5k into it and you'd have about 300-350 rwhp. Not too many of them in England though. Over here you can pick one up cheap. You might also have that "boy-racer" thing to over-come. Here's some info on the car and power: http://www.mrcontrols.com/primers/power.htm Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey all, Thanks for all your replies (with the exception of F335b and LAfun2 - were you guys just having a bad day?) Well yes NSX is a good idea and a contender, I might try one Would love a Vette (always loved them from the early classic to the latest - just really cool cars), only thing is I'm in the UK and LHD isn't so much fun over here. Would love a 550 but can't afford one, wouldn't mind a Cayenne either but again a bit pricey. Scooby's are great cars - two of my best freinds have them, and for practicality and performance I don't think you can beat them but even my freinds admit that they have a bit of hooligan image in the UK. The VX 220 Turbo is also cool but well who know I might go and test drive one.. Hey moving to a lower crime area sounds like a good option to me. Some nice mountain passes in Switzerland. I guess at the end of the day the dilema is my head says get rid of the 348 and my heart says keep it... As for the Catholic school girl, hookers and coke, well.......maybe I sould get that transit van after all...
Mark- that is one great looking Enzo. i wonder if it was a development mule for the Maserati race car. Looks very similar except the nose. Do you know if it's for sale?
She doesn't have the mental aptitude to comprehend threads on the internet. She is at her best on her back, and lets leave it at that. Not at all. I don't believe in bad days. Maybe there was a miscommunication between you and me? I guess I wasted time searching for Dan's 550 with the roof rack, saving it to my computer, and reposting the pics. Either way, I wish you luck with your purchase.
GM cars have been since the early 80's, Corvette included, the biggest pieces of floating t**d known to mankind. Owned an 84. The last GM car I will ever own for the rest of my life. Water based fricking enamel that peels off of your car from end to end after 3-5 years. Factory will not offer repaint due to "normal wear and tear." Center link, idler arm and balljoints need constant replacing after 30K-40K(max) miles, otherwise you cannot align them. GM has been and always will be worthless fricking floating junk. Oh yeah, the 750KR transmission won't last you more than 55K miles. The substandard tranny bushings wear out even before your first tranny fluid replacement. Ask me how I now. Every weekend I was working on it. Replaced every part of that car at least once. No more.
Speaking of the 996 Turbo very fine car and many interior color options and combo's. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2484160667&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT There is one I had my eye on because of its custom interior. Although the 355 would be perfect you said Ferrari alternatives.
Sounds like you got a lemon of an '84 Crossfire (1984 was the first year for the fourth-generation Corvette, remember...most people won't buy a first-year car of any make because the problems might not all be sorted out). I assure you that the typical '04 Z06 and '05 C6 is a wee bit different. That being said, there are a few things to watch out for on the C5s, none of which is like what you described. Nonetheless, the person who started this thread stated that they didn't want LHD, so it's irrelevant.
Located here ---------------> WWW.MYNSX.COM The NSX in its stock form (non-supercharged,although this one is) is compatible in power to the 348. The handleing is is superior to the 348. More dependable than the 348 or 355 Does not have the heritage "yet" but I think the car is fantastic. Has more oohhss and ahhhs by the crowds. I parked my 1999 Ferrari 355 GTS F-1 side by side at a national competition car show event .People "barley" noticed the 355 and would not leave the NSX alone. The NSX took "Best of Show" this year and 2 years prior. The Ferrari took 1st place in the exotic class. I am by no means downing the F car .(THATS THE ONE IM KEEPING) I decided that the Fcar pleases ME. MYNSX pleases THEM. Whether it be mine or another you purchase the NSX is a great choice!!
You aren't wrong my 996TT is faster than a Z06, also I raced a 600RR bike against my 996TT and he lost the raced, we did this 5 times up to 110mph and he was always behind, he has only 6 months of experience on motorbikes but the stats for that bike says 12.3 sec. for the 1/4 mile.
A Countach is very very expensive to maintain, second of all 996TT are up in the mid $80,000 and upward, I just saw a 2001 with 45,000 miles going for about $77,000. Many 996TT came like mine in natural grey which is almost black and they have many interiors options if you want the car to look up to is price, I have full carbon interior but is not cheap at about $8,000. My Testarossa and 328gts were my daily drivers for many years shine or rain they were out in the the street if I needed to go out and there was not rust anywhere in those cars and I live in Florida where it rains almost everyday during summer. There isn't really a Ferrari substitute as far as the attachment you always get for this cars. If you replaced it with something else you will always miss it. I turned down a 360 and bought the 996TT, I love my 996TT but I still miss the 1 hour i had behind the wheel of a 360F1, now I'm working about so I can keep my 996TT and buy the 360 for friday, sat. and sunday drives. Porsche there is no substitue and Ferrari one word says it all.
02 Z06 Bone-Stock on Stock Tires: 11.81 (ranger is the driver and Z06 owner and a hell of a nice guy to boot.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Guys. Sorry to say, I got exactly five passes in all of 2003. My business and personal schedules have kept me focused on other things. So I had to make the most of this single opportunity today at Maryland International Raceway in Buds Creek. For the occasion, decided to remove my Halltech Tric and drag radials, which had been my only departures from factory stock. So to be clear...everything else is as it left the showroom floor. The stock air box with lid and the factory air filter were in place. Timing is stock. Stock Ti exhaust. Stock shifter also and no shift light. Since my last trip to the track was in December 2002, it took several runs to regain the hang of things, especially to refrain from over-powering the stock tires on launch and the shifts. 12.208, 12.409. Water temp was running 230. So I turned on the high speed fans using a piece of wire to jump the switch. Water temp came down to 194. Next run 12.106, and then with is better launch, 11.999. Density Altitude (DA) was plus 70 feet. (All readings are from Ernie King's TAG weather station) Parked for a while to cool it down. Decided to make one more pass. Air temp had risen to 58 degrees. DA was plus 170 feet. Excellent air but well short of "mine shaft" conditions. With water temp at 194 and Oil at 185, I lowered the launch rpm to 3100 and got the clutch out fast...within the first 4'-6' feet of forward movement. Made softer shifts to 2d and 3d than on the 11.99 run. And powershifted 4th at an indicated 6500, my only powershift of the day. Here are the results: 60'.........1.783 330'.......5.038 660'.......7.669 @ 93.96 mph 1000'.....9.918 1320'...11.818 @ 117.26
Well I must admit that I was wrong in saying Vette's couldn't run those numbers. The corvette site says it all. I wouldn't be surprised though if he couldn't run those numbers consistently, That's the first time i've ever heard of a stock Vette running that fast. Well we all have to be wrong sometimes.
CFI = Cease Fire Injection, thankfully, no longer made by GM. TPI alot more reliable from what I have heard and that is the closest I am getting to detroit iron. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice... Yeah, I did get a lemon obviously, but I did not appreciate whatsoever the uncaring attitude of GM and the lack of standing behind their products. also, parts were never in stock, always a 2 week wait. Heck, I can get parts for my 308GT4 at my DOORSTEP within two days and have my GT4 running before I receive my GM parts. What a crock. And GM's are made in the USA. F-cars in Italy. You do the math.
He probably didn't know how to ride. My F4i(CBR600) was rated at 0-60 in 2.7-2.8 sec. A 1000cc bike would be even faster. Only a well-driven Enzo utilizing LC could probably give a modern sportbike a run from a standing start.
I have some articles where the bike I talked about does the 1/4mile in 12.3 sec. and road and track did the 1/4mile in 12.4 in a 01 996TT, so no you don't need and Enzo to beat that bike, remember that is his first bike and is only 6 months old or so, maybe he needs more practice but my car is easier to get go since I have traction in all four tires. I know I can do better than 12.4 in my car stock as I have beaten my friends Z06 and we all know the times for the vette as listed a few threads bellow. The 996TT is fast and thats that. I know the Agusta F4 is fast as I was going to buy one a few years back and I also know that for some reason is much faster than the 600rr in 0-60, his bike will do 0-60 in 3.6 I think but I was always ahead and thats what counts, who is faster and not which machine should be faster.
I think if you don't have any passion for a particular car you are in sad shape. Go to the Ford dealership & get the best bargin.
you don't recall the days of turbo's in F1? outlawed around '89 or '90 i think, but before that honda used a 1.5 litre V6. http://www.***************.com/frame.mv?file=car.mv&num=343 just in case you want to relive the glory, here's a grand prix game from that era that i used to love playing. (it's "abandon-ware" now, werks perfect on my P4 2.8ghz)
well, now that we've thrown the MR2 into the mix, i'll have to nudge the X1/9. sure, frown on it if you will, it's more style than 1/4 mile, but dam it'll put a grin on your chin through those tight city streets. (okay, no more rhymage) well hey, that little blue logo is the first thing across the line in most of the F1 races of the last few years, but anywho, part of my stable will ALWAYS include an X1/9. an exige, a 308, a mas, a 911 and a lambo and my stable will be almost half way to what i want. on the x, get the weight down to 800kg and shove a 200hp donk in will well and truly a decent motivator. all for half the price and double the pure stonk of a similar vintage f-car, plus it still has a great italian feel to it, none of this remote-robot japanese "functional" vehicle. on a side-note, there was a "speed-party" held with 60 cars on an airfield in finland or something, the top-speed of a non-fiat was 259km/h... an x1/9, well, that topped out at 288km/h. heh. results: http://mediarace.fi/speedparty/tulokset2004.php?id=Tulokset20041 pics: http://www.amworks.com/gallery/fin/fiat19turbo.htm vids: http://www.amworks.com/dyno.htm
