can you describe what the wheels looked like? since they are 19 inch wheels i wonder if they are the same as the 360CS?
Totally agree. Don't mind the front but that back is awkward to me. Joker, Congrats, it must be exciting to be getting one of the first. Pete
Very similar to the enzo-wheels. 5 dual-spokes. The CS wheels are an option (which in my opinion doesn't suit the car, but to each his own).
I got this from another forum Here are the rumored specs: 4300 cc 490bhp 0-60mph (100kph) - 4 sec Wheels similar to Enzo Options - Carbon Ceramics brakes New exhaust tail pipes. Name - not revealed yet.
front isnt bad, rear looks like Chris Bangles work, Looks like Pininfarina missed again Whats wrong with doing a nice update of the 330 P4 ?
Has production of the 360 coupe ended yet? What about the stradale? Anyone know if the 360 spider will continue to be made until the F430 spider comes out?
F430 comes out as a 2005. 360 Spider will be made for about 1 more year. F430 Spider will be out around 2006. No word on a new Challange Stradale, I doubt the will make one. It was made to bridge the gap from 360 Modena to F430 for a short time. Also I have heard the CS wheels and carbon fiber interior parts will be avaliable on the F430.
Yes the 360 will be made in 05 but the coupe will be the F430. I am not sure if the F430 will be a early release 06 or?
I have heard from someone else who was there that 4.3 litres 490 bhp is correct AND 1350 kg dry - that makes it 170 kg heavier than a CS so the power to weight ratio is the same. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the greater agility of the CS and also it acts as a great tempter for the 430 CS!!
Front is as in photo part NGT with Enzoesque headlights. Back is all Enzo. CCM brakes are optional. First deliveries april '05 in europe. Price = 360 + 4 % Real novelty is the electronic diff (as in F1) that the driver can adjust from the cockpit. For the rest see Izza"s inside track - it is all fact. Car was presented by Luca di M, Todt MS, Rubens and Badoer on tuesday 20th jly. ps It is 3.5 secs quicker around Fiorano than a 360 - so as quick as a CS
I've been told delivery is sooner than that. I would also be surprised if they wait until April to deliver, as the factory no longer produces any Modenas. It sounds strange that they would have such a long delay before getting the F430 out the door. I'll try to get the actual delivery dates verified.
From www.autoracing1.com... In a scoop from Corsanews.it, Autoracing1.com was able to obtain this spy photo of the new Ferrari F430 taken today in the streets around Fiorano, Italy. The mayor of Fiorano, where the Ferrari test track is, closed a few streets so Ferrari could test their new car called the F430. Luca Montezemolo was not able to witness the test because he was busy with his new new job as President of Fiat, but he spoke through TV to those in attendance at the private test. The new car will carry a V8 with more power than the Modena. The engine is similar to that used in their Maserati cars. In the future the Alfa Romeo 8C may use the same engine. Ferrari hopes that the new F430 will be introduced at the end of the year in Detroit and Los Angeles. Before then, Ferrari F1 test driver Luca Badoer will be the primary tester of the new F430. (photo appears in this tread - no use reposting it, the black ones)
My thoughts would be that November is very early as this would mean that the car couldn't be launched at an auto show that carries any real weight. The factory do however have a production problem as the Enzo is now either done or very close to being finished, the 575 is not selling as well as it used to and the 360 Coupe cars are also done. That leaves the factory really only building the 612 and the 360 spider which is not enough to bring in the revenues needed.
It's being officially presented at the Paris Motorshow in September. But I agree with your speculation - I think they need to send it out asap. There were though still Enzo's being built - at least I saw several Enzo engines being built, so they're not done with it yet. But since the V8 is their "mainstream" model, they need to get it out. There's not even any significant waiting time for a 360 Spider here in Europe any more.
I was just told by my local dealer that FNA will have an unveiling of either the new 550 spider or the F430 on August 12 in Monterey. he has put me on the guest list and should be getting my invitation soon and will have more info.
Paris is correct for presentation. April is more or less correct for delivery in France ( friend has one of the first) and the French mky usually gets them pretty early - my Stradale was delivered 31 july '03, and only a couple of Italians got it earlier. Also let us get the names right: 360 Modena 430 Modena Challenge Stradale all preceeded by the Ferrari name There are CS owners out there who think their car is called a 360 CS - IT IS NOT
Jean Tods presented the new one as the: Ferrari F430 This is also what it says on the car. No mention of any last name.
did they say what the engine would red line at? or did you happen to notice where the red line was on the tach? i heard (rumor) that it would rev to 9000 RPMs.
this may be obvious (sorry), but can you explain a bit more about what the electronic diff is? and also more about being able to adjust it from the ccockpit? thanks.
